Ways, out of curiosity, how much time has passed in-game since we reentered the compound and discovered Gustave was missing?
The more I think about this, the more I agree. We should press on with the search for Gustave.ehiker133 wrote:I'm not sure taking a full 8 hour break would be in The Gustave's best interests.
I agree also. We have to move fast so we can get The Gustave back; it's not the same without him.sully wrote:The more I think about this, the more I agree. This sounds like a good compromise.doctorx wrote:Josiane will certainly want to do everything she can to save her friend, but she has a bee in her bonnet about trying to use the Speculem to track him down. I don't know if that'll work, but it might narrow our search field a bit.
How about a quick rest to tend wounds while she tries this, then press on?
Ways, can I ask how much time a scrying with the crystal is going to take? If it's going to be hours she won't bother.
I don't have my game notes handy and I'm not sure precisely when the players realised Gustave was missing. However, I will say it is now sometime during the second hour since re-entering the abbey post defeating the (so called) Tar Fiend. So it is reasonable to say Gustave has been missing at least one hour.flightcommander wrote:Ways, out of curiosity, how much time has passed in-game since we reentered the compound and discovered Gustave was missing?
The Queerious Speculem is a variety of Crystal Ball which is usable by clerical-types. According to the DD Ref Rules:doctorx wrote:Ways, can I ask how much time a scrying with the crystal is going to take? If it's going to be hours she won't bother.
andthese provide vision of a desired place, person, or object. Great distance and unfamiliarity will decrease the chance that the subject can be located, however.
So then... it will take at least one turn to perform one search, after which you would require another turn of rest. If you wanted to perform multiple searches, then you would require multiple turns of use (and subsequent rest).each turn of usage requires a turn of rest thereafter.
We should definitely do this. Gustave is well known to us and I can't imagine he could have gotten that far away in one hour's time.waysoftheearth wrote:The Queerious Speculem is a variety of Crystal Ball which is usable by clerical-types.
