If the Elven Loremaster is to be believed...
"You mean Alcazar Fourty-Seven," says the Loremaster without pausing in his work. "That being one of sixty-six like fortifications that encircle the gateway-portal between The Enemy's world and ours--them that know of such lore are wise to hold their tongues."

As of the change over to the Delving Deeper rules, it's time to revisit the identify function. I've just added house rules to cover this at the bottom of the page here.

The pertinent part for the in-game thread right now is this:
Given a turn of uninterrupted study, any player can identify any enchanted item usable by his class with a throw of 5 or 6 on a six-sided die excepting that; magic-users alone can identify miscellaneous magic items, potions, rings, and intelligent magic swords this way, and; elves of any class can identify boots and cloaks of elvenkind this way.
This presumes that members of each class will best know the storied artifacts of their particular profession. Of course, magic-users can employ sorcery where reputation or memory fails (see the linked house rules).

Highbough certainly intends to attempt such identification, as soon as the party is in a position of (relative) safety. He has no qualms about wielding a sword of dark/infernal origin. (Assuming Elf Warlocks can wield magic swords?)

Yes; warlocks have the use of magic items employable by magic-users and anti-clerics, as well as enchanted spears and swords.

I'm sure many hands are itching to grasp that hilt... especially as this is the third magic sword we've seen so far in the game, yet nobody has been able to employ one to date.

Oh yes... in fairness the sword should go to a character who doesn't already have a magic weapon. Highbough would naturally be a little bit grabby in character. He wouldn't want it falling into the hands of a mere human!

Worried about Josiane... :o

Does anyone even have a magic weapon?

Ring of Jumping
Cloak of Elemental Night
Mithril Ring Mail +1
Theraic Staff
Queerious Speculem
Scepter of Exonerate Resplendence (with the SIsters of Ket)
Lentive Demitasse

I think that's the sum total of all magical items for the entire party.

Highbough has the Ire spear (of blinking).
Wen has the Prayer Beads (magical? Not sure, but Protection From Evil is quite powerful.)
Mads' Cold Iron Axe has proved beneficial, though it isn't quite magical. It is better than a standard weapon.

Hmm well...

The Theraic Staff and Resplendent Scepter are enchanted stave and mace.
Mads' Cold Iron Axe is... cold iron.
The Ire Spear is an enchanted spear.
The "Wight Blade" is an enchanted sword (presumably) still at the Manse on Eagle street, and we now have this other enchanted sword on hand...
Wilbert Hoggsburry also once carried an enchanted dagger but lost it somewhere in the Gottfried tomb.

That's seven items of interest I can think of off the top of my head...

So... The staff and mace can be used as weapons?

Doc, Josiane has the staff, right?
