The Second Vault
(Dieter, Olaf, Ulric, Desmond/Mondes, Wibert, Pelenwin)
Scarcely a moment after Wibert and Pelenwin rush into the vault, the dead come on!
They are a great tide of rotted, peeling flesh, scramble atop one another in a tangle of out stretched claws in their desperation to reach the living and rend them limb from limb. The stench of them is sickening enough, let alone the sight of them.
Ulric entreats the serpentine phrase of his sorcery, and lets loose a blast of copper-fire that momentarily heats the otherwise cold vault, and supersedes the white-blue light with orange.
(1d6=1 +3 = 4)
The riot of walking dead are engulfed in the flames, and their flesh and wild hair and ragged clothing do burn and cinder, but alas! They come on still with fires burning upon them!
Dieter and Olaf are waiting for them with honed blades at the ready, and as the first of the wave stagger into the vault (1d20; Dieter=18, Olaf=11) the fighting-Men cut them down mercilessly.
But as the first of them are savagely eviscerated, the next are already burgeoning into the vault!
What next?
