Hmmm. FWIW, by my estimation, using the magic ring to leap out of the combat and then stay out of Owlbear reach would give Dieter
substantially better odds of survival...
But would he be able to kill the bear at the same time?
I was thinking that
Dieter forgets he has the ring even under normal circumstances. So I really wouldn't expect him to think about it while he's enraged. But he might, if he could strike and then bounce away.
Hmmm...

Olaf shouts to Dieter, "Jump away and I'll shoot another arrow into the beast!"
Olaf doesn't want to press an attack on the Owlbears, but he does want to extract his companions, alive, from them. He also wants to drive them away so we can recover the treasure.

OOC: No. No he does not.
Realizing that the Sufferance will bring him too close to the owlbears,
Ulric readies his new bow and fires an arrow once he has a clear shot.
"Keep back! Pelt them with missiles!"

Mads the Fair
Mads considers the fallen dwarf warrior and the spilled treasure across the land. Primal, certainly. But not malicious. He decides he'd rather live to fight another day, and makes a steady withdrawal from the scene.

And as soon as Dieter leaps away, Olaf shoots another arrow at the Owlbear!
"Use your bows and slings, boys!" Olaf shouts, "Make pin cushions out of 'em!"

He can not understand why everyone else moves faster than himself, there must be something wrong with his legs.

Oh well,
Andaros will reconsider his charge then. He will cover Olaf and the other archers in case the creatures aproach.

It is the tribulation of the short-legged people to run slower than the long-legged ;D
