Well met, new and old new players!
I'm not sure that "safe" is a word that adds up well with the Hinterlands campaign...

As it should be!

P.S. Four years and fourteen thousand posts is pretty amazing. D.S.

It is unfortunate that people abuse the word "epic" by wasting it on such things as trips to DisneyWorld or a good meal at a restaurant when one of the standard descriptive words would suffice. The watering-down of the ultimate descriptor detracts from the times when it might properly be used in phrases like "an epic adventure", as in this situation.

There's a PBP game over on DF that's just a few months older than Hinterlands which seems to have 43,000 posts. I think that probably qualifies as "epic" ;)

Man, we are complete slackers compared to those guys.

Tell you what, WOTE... loosen up the reigns and I'll get us to 43K. ;)

And while the other game may have more posts, can the other DM claim to have written and published a release (and three versionings) of an OD&D re-write during this period? I don't think so.

Says Armando from deeeeeep down

love your work

...and on 14,000 post and 4 years, quite spectacular effort. And lets not forget, we haven't even reached the Hinterlands as yet...

The door has always been open for more players to join--all it takes is a "request to join".

I don't have any problem if an experienced player wants to run multiple PCs in order to get involved in "more action". Depending on circumstances, I would probably conspire to have multiple PCs belonging to a single player running in separate areas... we'll have to see how it would all unfurl if it happens...

Mmm. You haven't reached the originally envisaged maze of goblin fortifications in the Hinterlands, true. But from my perspective the whole of this campaign is "the Hinterlands".

I rather enjoy the one, er, two... Ish... characters I have. No need for another.

I was speaking of pursuing an ehiker133 posting rate. ;) Like Desmond on a permanent potion of Speed. But it was most just joshing. Mostly.
