Beyond the rear wall of the gatehouse, pressed on by desperate need of haste Andaros makes his unsure attempt to cross the bridge, clinging to the fat sack of coins in one hand and Gustave's rope with the other... (1d6=1) but alas, his timing is ill! Almost as soon as he is committed to his run, the Giant's club crashes into the left hand tower with biblical force! Rocks and timbers splinter and tumble loudly down and Andaros slips sideways as the entire bridge reverberates at the impact!

"Aayyeeeiiiiii!" screams Andaros as he falls failing into the ravine. There is a distinct crunch as he hits the rocky ground (6dd=6,6,6,3,3,4) for 18 hit points.

He is dead before the dust even settles.

"Andaros ", cries Wibert, as he sees him fall. A dark silence falls on Wibert's face and a hard determination for revenge sparks within him against these foes. [img]images/smiley/cry.png[/img]

"Come on mates, hold this rope and get the others to safety", speaks Wibert.

Gustave is already holding the rope taut against the partial loads of Pelenwin and Desmond and Boris... it is a bit too crowded to offer much help in that regard.

The Giant is leaping in melee with Dieter. Wibert can shoot, but if you roll an odd number to hit I will randomise the target.

Highbough as slipped into the keep through a breach in the wall, and Ulric is following after him. There do not appear to be any enemy on this side of the bridge...

Very good. There are plenty of places to hide in the tumble down remains of the building on the left and right of the path through the gate house (from the back gate, through the over-grown courtyard, to the front gate). The rear portcullis gates (facing the bridge) is closed, but the front is half raised.

Olaf's feet hit the ravine floor only moments after Andaros -- at the very extent of his 60ft rope. Then it is a short scramble down the incline at the base of the wall and onto the floor proper.

Victor is already hastening down the rope above...

Dieter stands on one of the rear towers (closest to the ravine). The Giant stands on the remains of the front wall. Though they are almost level there is 20 yards between them.

Dieter can play cat-and-mouse purely defensively (not attacking, but penalising the Giant's attack by -4 ). Or else he can take the incoming attack and then reply with his own. Which is it to be coffee?
