Gustave winces as Lólwen shuns his offer for the attraction of a day watching leaves rustle in the wind.

Not to be chagrined by the rebuff, he turns to address his wineskin.

"Well, my friend, it seems that it is just us eh?", he sighs, taking a sip from his glass.

"Perhaps not as fair as some", he muses, smacking his lips and glancing at the Elf maiden's retreating back before returning his attention to the glass, "but...you will do for now."

He settles himself in on the catwalk, suitably positioned in the mid-morning sun, casting an eye toward the idle goings-on below between sips.

Beringar, in high spirits, and relieved that he was left out of the tournament, gives the winner a pat on the back.

"I wouldn't want to be your enemy, Torben! Where did you learn to shoot like that?"

Torben

Torben smiles and nods in disbelief as Gwínir congratulates him. 'I was certain you had bested me...' As the wondrous mail is handed to him, he continues. 'Forgive my earlier coldness - until the last of my days, I will remember the fairness of the elves and the might of the Wold.'

He turns to Beringar. 'Here and there,' he says vaguely, hands still shaking. 'Never be surprised by what you can do if it's something you have to do.'

With that, he will retire someplace quiet and let the adrenaline flow out of his system.

"Well done, Torben!" Desmond cries out as the last arrow strikes true. The excitement of the game appears to have cast away his funk.

Mondes spits on the ground and grumbles.

"Hush it, noggin. Let him have his moment," Desmond hisses.

After the crowd has dispersed, Desmond looks around for Highbough and Wen... and Dorgan, it seems, to find out if they made it back from the fey land alive.

Dieter continues to rest and recuperate, eating his fill and continuing to practice with his new bow. He'll keep his eyes and ears open, naturally, but he won't go prying into the affairs of the elves.

Dorgan will mostly relax, and again seek out any Elves proficient in healing who might be able to speed up the process with his feet.

He will, however, find Josiane at some point and ask her what she knows of the Seal of Seyal.

Olaf dances a jig and pounds Torben on the back, "Well, done my friend, well done!"

Once things calm down, and there is less humpla, Olaf will get in some practice with the bow. He might not be up to Torben's level, but practice is how you get there. All bets are off, though, there's been enough of that. :)

The next day, Olaf will see about getting fitted for chain...if he can and acquiring a shield and helm. After that he will do some sword and shield practice to build up his strength and stamina as best he can.

Re: (055) Wildwood/The Ivory Wold

Armando leans over the Loremaster's shoulder and peers at the same curious grayish-white cocoon that holds the Elf's attention.

"Amazing — that so lowly a creature should be born anew into so different and delicate a form. Wholly changed! And all within that tiny vessel stuck to that bark there…" Here Armando pauses as, somewhere distant, raucous cheering erupts.

"And then there is this curse you speak of — vampirism, the black blood — which might seem, upon reflection, the precise opposite of such a miracle. And perhaps a cousin to lycanthropy, whose victims we have encountered of late as well."

"Now, Lady Gallaine located this curse within the bloodline of a certain Gottfried family. Perhaps you might share what you know of this family with me? Alas, I have little in the form of compensation to offer, although I do have a trinket associated with local lore that I should like to show you…"
