Josiane, sword drawn, her face pale but determined, holds her place in the second rank, ready to step forward if either of her companions desire it.

"The Lady's curse on those d**nable heretics!" she thinks to herself, glowering at the black-robed priests lurking behind the battle-line.

Her eyes scan walls, floor and ceiling for anything that may be of use in taking the battle to these heathens. She'll settle for chucking bricks at this point. (Shame there aren't any giants about to provide debris...) ;D

"Lady Kaster's buttocks" curses Gustave as debris rains about him, fouling the luster on his breastplate and no doubt heralding the arrival of numerous troubling gritty bits in his under-trouser.

"Forward you great oaf!" he chastises the now monolithic Guntrum , peering through his trunk-like legs at the foe beyond.

He holds position as best as he is able, focusing on the wolves and seeking an opportunity to attack - conditional on the movements of the giant.

Ulric shouts to the others over the ruckus caused by their giant comrade.

"There's a door at the other end of this corridor," he shouts to the others. "Torban, Rufus, Armando, are there any exits out of that chamber? I could use one more here to assist me."

Ulric moves a few paces forward to get a better look at the door keeping a watch for signs of movement.

"What magic I can currently bring to bear has been placed in Dieter's blade," Josiane repiles; "We must let swords settle this affair."

If there's anything she can actively do to tend Dorgan's wounds while he's still in battle without throwing him off his aim, she'll do it. The Supplication of Medicant Requite requires a whole Turn to cast!

Approaching the wizard, Armando hurriedly describes the grisly scene in the chamber. He adds, "We might readily pry the beams from yonder windows and effect our escape €” but who knows what awaits us on the other side! And this door ahead of us ... Beyond it we may find our salvation, or a greater host of enemies! Might it not make sense to redouble our efforts and fight our way back to the front gate? At least then we might rejoin our companions."

Meanwhile, Rufus and Armando turn their inquisitive eyes toward the boarded up chamber, while Ulric keeps a watch over the passage that continues further into to the dark to a door which he can dimly see.

The boarded up windows, and a door (opposite the entry way) could probably be freed up relatively easily with a crowbar or similarly useful tool. The chamber itself is sparse and mostly bare. There is a low brick wall, about 1ft high, that forms a square in the central part of the room, and this appears to retain a volume of dry, stony earth. In the center of earth is a man-sized stake, about which are heaped large, gnawed bones.

{Dieter has 13 of 18 hit points left.}
Rufus comments to Armando before he walks away, "I don't like the idea of a burning at the stake,... what has been happening here in this Abbey! Now lets see what my trusty axe can do with these wooden boards".
Rufus will use his hand axe to chop into the boarded up windows to take a look inside, hoping for an exit or any item that can aid them.

"Fighting our way back to the front gate is exactly what I had in mind," Ulric says to Armando. "But with the noise we are making I want to make sure we have an eye on any other passages. I don't want any more surprises. If that door opens we need to be ready to meet the threat. If all of the exits from that chamber are boarded up, we can be somewhat assured that no new enemies will come from there."

Ulric then looks up toward the sunlight and Guntram's head.

"Guntram! Can you move forward? We need to get back toward the gate!"

Torben will allow the rest of the group to mass at their flank as he attempts to move through the dust and debris to make his way towards Giant Guntrum. Looking up, he calls out "Let's show 'em what we've got!.
