Meanwhile, Rufus and Armando turn their inquisitive eyes toward the boarded up chamber, while Ulric keeps a watch over the passage that continues further into to the dark to a door which he can dimly see.
The boarded up windows, and a door (opposite the entry way) could probably be freed up relatively easily with a crowbar or similarly useful tool. The chamber itself is sparse and mostly bare. There is a low brick wall, about 1ft high, that forms a square in the central part of the room, and this appears to retain a volume of dry, stony earth. In the center of earth is a man-sized stake, about which are heaped large, gnawed bones.
