OOC: If he gets to the climbing down part, Olaf will drop most of his gear and his shield over the side before starting down the rope. No time to take off the armor and drop it or he would to save weight. He's hanging on to the scepter and his sword if he possibly can...sword in sheath, scepter tucked in his belt on the other side and bow over shoulder (if possible).

OOC: If Dieter's plan is to jump to the other side trailing a rope long enough to span the gap, then Olaf will provide the rope, but if that isn't what he has in mind or it doesn't look like that is going to work, then Olaf still plans to go down the ravine wall to the floor using his 60' of rope and any length of dangling chain to get him as close to the bottom as he can.

OOC: Only one comment here...Olaf is not going to tie the rope around his waist, sling it around, yes, but not tie it. He doesn't want the giant to have a chance to grab the rope and yank him up like a fish out of water. He'll get down as far as he can, try to make the rest of the way climbing down the ravine face if he has to, but if worse comes to worse, he'll fall rather than be grabbed or yanked back up. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

And then he'll use his ring to get away and across the chasm.

With that said, Olaf goes over the side of the ravine and rappels as rapidly as possible down the ravine face. He will either get to the bottom, or as far down as he can then climb down the rest of the way on the ravine face...or fall.

If he makes it he shout up, "Next! And hurry!"

Once down on the ravine floor, Olaf will wait for the others, helping them as best he can, but Olaf's plan is to move this group as quickly as possible away from the gatehouse and then cross the stream to the Ogre's side where he hopes to eventually rejoin the rest of the party.
