The Ante Chamber and The Left Passage
(Highbough, Guntram, Josiane, Dorgan, Gustave)
A distant rumbling noise can be heard for a few moments, before it ceases.

Gustave squints into the darkness at the hint of movement beyond the torchlight. The tingle running up his spine becomes a shiver as the eerie vision is followed by a deep rumbling that he can feel through his feet.
He backtracks to Dorgan, leaving the torch at its new reach and keeping a wary eye on the passage.
"It would seem that we are not alone", he whispers to the dwarf, "though what ill stirs in the darkness yonder I know not."
He continues into the antechamber, joining Highbough and Josiane, "I take it you heard that?" he says, "Something stirs - I hope it is us, but I fear otherwise."
He glances warily at the dark openings all around, "Light, we need more light. And we must join the others."

"Join the others, ya say? Seems they should be joinin' us!"
Dorgan will follow Gustave back to the main antechamber.
"Are the others close? Can we summon them quickly?" he asks no one in particular.

As Pelenwin waits a moment for Ulric to retrace his steps and illuminate the way back, there comes another terrible sound. A great, slow, grinding tremor comes, as though massive slabs of stone nearby protest being moved.
Wibert listens for the direction of the noise, and any other clues to what may have happened.
OOC: What direction did the noise come from, the second vault and the way we just came?
"I hope its not to late to regroup now", says
Wibert. He waits a minute ready for an attack at any moment, waiting with his back tot he wall and weapons ready... and it nothing attacks he will light an other torch to see better by.

Josiane is also trying to determine the direction of the ominous sound - from the tunnel down which the shadowy creature fled? From the direction the rest of the party have gone? Elsewhere?
"More light we can manage at least," she says firmly, and as before she sets her sword and shield down to take another pair of torches from her pack and light them with Guntrum's torch, wedging them in the walls of the antechamber to provide the best field of illumination possible.
She then takes up her arms with all haste and moves to the head of the right-hand passage, straining eyes and ears for any sight or sound of the rest of the party...

"What sort of trouble have
we gotten into?", says Olaf.

Gustave and Dorgan return from their foray, while Josiane fetches out two more torches and, one in each hand, lights them from the torch Guntram previously set in the nook of a statue's elbow.
In anything, the recent rumbling came from the passage down which Dieter and company have vanished. Of them, however, there is now no sign.
Highbough seems lost in thought...

A Passage Between Vaults
(Pelenwin, Wibert, Desmond/Mondes, Olaf, Ulric, Dieter)
The rumbling sound was deep in the in ground; you all felt it through your boots and much as heard it with your ears. It almost certainly originated in the first vault, however.
When the sound stops, everything one pauses for a nervous moment to see what might happen next. When nothing immediately does, Wibert bobs down in the semi-darkness of the passage-way and extracts a torch from his pack. He then sets about striking a spark to it with flint and steel...
THACK!
THACK!
THACK!
...while Wibert is per-occupied with this, the others (particularly Pelenwin and Desmond/Mondes, who are nearest the first vault) note that the moaning sound which was audible when they first entered the first vault has commenced again...
