"A little help," he says to those nearby.
Victor moves over to assist Ulric in turning over the two bodies.

They were rough Men, these brigands, and surprisingly young -- each could hardly have seen a score of summers. Their brown hair is matted and knotted in thick, unclean dreadlocks, their protective leather carapace filthy with wear and lack of maintenance. Upon worn belts each as a jagged knife and a hand axe. The short bows they use are of the most basic craft, and their quivers were near depleted.

The Man shot through the throat from afar (by Wibert) was a slight fellow, and apparently the younger and fairer of the pair, and he carried a pure of 10 copper coins and 2 silver. In a flimsy satchel he carried a half full wine skin, and a sheaf of a dozen or so loose papers bound by a cord.

The other, killed by Victor's axe in his back, was of a more portly build, and carried a larger pack, filled in the main with victuals -- a recently caught rabbit, a half dozen grubby root vegetables that appear freshly unearthed, three small wooden vessels that each contain a strong smelling spice, and a glass bottle of what is presumably a cooking oil. He also carries a tinder box, a flat cooking pan, and a small, sharp knife.

His purse contains only 4 copper coins, but he also wears a brass ring on the little finger of his left hand.

Yes, there were two mean shortbows. Ulric has taken one, Andaros takes the other. Their quivers contain but four arrows each. Andaros breaks one of his four over Fix in his ritual for the fallen.

Yes. The morning star is a one handed, 2dd piercing weapon. After he has performed his ritual for Fix, Andaros begins to walk over to where Wulfric fell (some 30ish yards away from where he is now) in order to examine and pick up the morning star...

Mads the Fair

"The wind carries ominous news." Mads double checks his bindings and hefts his bloody cold-iron war axe. "Let's go, boys. We fought for our treasure, now let us see if we still have it." He makes haste back to the cart.

Olaf rises as quickly as he can and grabs his bow and quiver of arrows before he heads off at a run toward the cry he heard on the wind. His shield is on his back and his sword is at his side, but he runs with bow in hand, arrow ready to nock as soon as he comes into view of the cart and horse.

I just hope we aren't too late!

Andaros will take the morning-star then, if someone else wants it, it's yours.

He will follow Dieter and Olaf towards the cart with his shield in one hand, and Mad's hand ax in the other.

Ulric give the coins and brass ring to Victor. He then makes sure to grab Fix's silver-filled coin purse and tosses it to the warrior before joining the others in running back to the cart.

"He won't be needing that anymore."

Mads, Dieter, Olaf and Pelenwin hear the cry persist as they hasten back toward where they left Thorgrim with the cart.

Highbough -- his Elvish ears and good sense sharp enough to auger what is going -- spurs the rest of the company to action and follows after the leading four with Boris, and then Andaros, who had just collected Wulfric's morning star.

Gustave, Victor and short-legged Wibert come after, and finally Ulric who paused to pluck Fix's fat purse from within his shirt.
