Just to give you a few more details... Here is the layout at the end of the surprise round. Like I said Hagwen and Rhegaer would be aware of Illmir the others are further back and need a warning. Just to say it he does not have Fireball and I'm not simply going to kill you all in a single spell, I find that kind of DMing un-fun. So far as a group you've been incredible lucky for 1st level characters, you've made all the way to the Wizard. Let's see how that plays out.... :)

Rhegaer reacts instinctively, firing an arrow at the wizard as his way of giving warning to the others.

"Wizard!" is all he manages to remember to call out.

Alrik, seeing Rhegaer fire his bow draws his other dagger and quickly moves to stand behind Phadian on the east wall.

"Curse not having been able to study my spellbook!", he mutters under his breath.

Coln

"Spread out! We don't want him to be able to take us all out with one shot!" And with that, he pushes Aurora back and aims his crossbow at the door.

Phadian

Puts a stone in his sling, whispers to the stone "Fly true".
Starts edging away from the wall more into the center of the room (a little above the 4). To get an angle to shoot as soon as he enters the room.

Round 2:

Init Wizard
eAsp:roll 1d6
mgt's roll comes to 5 [5 on 1d6]
Init Party
eAsp:roll 1d6
mgt's roll comes to 4 [4 on 1d6]

The Wizard throws something at the ground and shouts out something like " Alta Ruma Taga" , but at the same time both Hagwen and Rhegaer let fly their arrows (both are gaining +1 init)

eAsp:roll 1d20 + 2 + 1
mgt's roll comes to 16 [13 on 1d20 + 2 + 1] - HIT
eAsp:roll 1d20 + 2 + 1
mgt's roll comes to 17 [14 on 1d20 + 2 + 1] - HIT

eAsp:roll 2d6
mgt's roll comes to 7 [4 3 on 2d6]

So even as both arrows drive into the Wizard a shimmering field appears around him. Wounded but not dead he curses you and starts another spell.

Meanwhile Phadian moves and waits to see him. Alrik moves over to the wall and Coln waits for a chance to shoot.

Round 3....
