We are totally butchering B2: Caves of Chaos over on odd74 boards right now.
I do literally mean "butchering," WIlliam S. Burroughs 'cut-up' style... up is down, west is east, Cthulhu-worshipping Deep Ones are spawning in the Cave of the Unknown, etc.
It's nuts. I come here and game with y'all to relax.

Certainly if you ran through it back in 1980-something, it bears little resemblance to Mush's version.
Of course, my memory is obviously failing me in Ways' game, so... who knows
what B2 was
really like 30 years ago. Probably not me.

Apologies for the in-game delay--I've gotten busy this week :/

The original goal of the campaign (three years ago), was to journey out into the Hinterlands and sack the various goblin/hobgoblin caves out there, and thus free Ket and its trade routes of the scourge.
This objective kind of lines up with #1 and #5 on Mgtremaine's list of suggestions, which are more-or-less the same. Although there are likely to be multiple caves out there, with only one of them being THE stronghold. Which will be suitably challenging for The Argonauts.
Now I'll stop procrastinating and go update the ingame thread

What? You mean there is no Minnie?
A good start to a guerrilla war would be to sack a goblin stronghold (or two). This might force them to leave Ket alone, or otherwise reallocate some forces. It will certainly piss them off, and might net us some loot too. Armies in general dont move too fast, so should be no rush on sneaking into ket (something best done NOT by men in field plate anyway). The latter may be best achieved remotely, now we have the means (if Ulric can divine the method).

FYI -- last night I fixed up the spells section in my PCs spreadsheet, so just the dual-classed business to go now. Then I'll be able to publish it and -- theoretically -- the "Vital Statistics" page will be automatically updated and reflect all of the changed rules.
I am also going to look at giving you guys write access to your individual PC areas of the spreadsheet so that you can each maintain your own inventory and purse (exactly as you would in a face to face game).
Ideally, I'll be able to present it on top of the fancy
DD Character Sheet... we'll see.

We didn't come close to clearing the top level out. After we lost Sir Roderick to the water demon and got surrounded by zombies we hightailed it out of there. Only to get surrounded by hobgoblins back at the surface (notice a theme?). There was a lower level that a pair of characters briefly entered and discovered some nice jewels, but they were driven off by living statues. If I remember correctly one of them died trying to escape. Good times.

I'll put a vote in for trying to locate some hobgoblin strongholds to loot and burn while the army is away. We need resources to win back Ket, something that is currently in short supply. It may also be worth our while to try to take out some of the blockades in the road between Ket and the human cities to the east on the way.

I'm good with this.

In light of information re:automatons presented by the Elves in the council, I do wonder if a return trip to the Abbey might not be useful, and not just for more coins. There were certainly powerful sorceries at work — what better place to hide an outpost of evil than behind a massive illusion of a lonely and bucolic Abbey? And just what was that laboratory we discovered — did it bear any similarity to the one previously discovered beneath Ket? What is its relationship to the automaton we encountered, or indeed the ones assailing Ket?
Perhaps the Elves could suggest a safe shortcut back to the Abbey and prepare a cache of supplies and some extra man-power ...
