Five long days have passed, and both Men are sorely in need of some sunlight and a bath. (10d6=29) 29gp (8gp and 39sp each) of expenses and materials have been consumed.

Can I use some of the supplies Ulric purchased (parchment, ink, quills) to count toward the 8 gp and 39 sp? I purchased these with the understanding that they would be needed in spell research.

Any objections?

Well, you spoke first, so I won't object. I'll take the scepter, unless it will work better with a Templer or Magic-User, then I'll defer to one of them. I'd like to get Olaf to 2nd level, but I can wait...as dangerous as waiting *is* in classic D&D.

Yes, go ahead and take them. I'd rather have two 2nd level fighter to watch our backs...and fronts...and sides. Besides, it looks like we can trade the xp if we find a nice magic sword or shield.

I might be up for a trade.

But if this ring does provide me with the ability to make mighty leaps, I might just keep it forever -- and attack in the classic John Carter style!

Yes. I wasn't sure if you wanted to keep these for your travels, but you are welcome to use them up in Ulric's research.

Of course much of the expense is fees for entering the library, bribes to allow you to stay on even after nightfall, more bribes to keep others out of the archives during your stay, errand boys to run documents to scribes, translators and copyists, and the fees these charge for their services, a fee for the temporary lease of a large magnifying lens, and the usual plethora of parchments, quills, inks, candles, waxes, sands and so on, all meals during proceedings, coffee, tea, and brandy a-plenty, and finally, the cost of gold and silver and other previous foils, and ground stones required to finally illuminate the means of the spell into your spell book.

In the end, both Ulric and Flewellen have a thick folder stuffed full of their notes, as well as a gloriously illuminated spell added to their collection.

I assume Ulric has penned his copy in Draconic into his grimoire.

Tombowings, as Flewellen lacks a spellbook of his own at the present time, I'm assuming he has created an additional scroll penned in archaic. Do you want to purchase a spellbook and write your spell there instead?

- The Irreproachable Susurrus
- The Shill Feroe
If time allows Padrig will create a new scroll spell in common (to protect against undead and in common so others can cast it) from the spell book:
- The Soliloquy of Repentance
and an extra healing spell (in common)
- The Supplication of Medicant Requite

Padrig requests his company to each buy some fine wine or pure water so that it can be used to aid healing if they are injured.
Padrig is glad to have copies of this spells, and some coin to resupply.

Can I confim I have copied the scroll spells into the magic book, as above:
- The Fiat Libation
- The Shill Feroe
- The Irreproachable Susurrus

Do I miss one or should the last posting be The Irreproachable Susurrus instead of The Soliloquy of Repentance.

What is the cost of "fine wine" or "pure water" to buy for use with healing spells?

Heartless,

The Elysian Mecum contained the following (in the Celestial script) when it came into Padrig's possession...
 • The Inviolable Tranquility
 • The Soliloquy of Repentance
 • The Supplication of Medicant Requite
And Padrig began play with the following scrolls (also in the Celestial script) :
 • The Fiat Libation
 • The Irreproachable Susurrus
 • The Shill Feroe
Padrig's starting boon was a very long scroll (in the Old Elvish script) of:
 • The Supplication of Medicant Requite x3
In the last two days, Padrig has copied three scrolls into The Elysian Mecum, which NOW contains the following spells (in the Celestial script) :
 • The Inviolable Tranquility
 • The Soliloquy of Repentance
 • The Supplication of Medicant Requite
 • The Fiat Libation
 • The Irreproachable Susurrus
 • The Shill Feroe
If you want to make additional copies, it will take more time and resources. But as Flewellen and Ulric are busy for another three days, you have that option (if you can beg or borrow some more coin)...

Ok, Ulric uses 8 silver worth of supplies already in his possession and spent 8 gold and 31 silver more. That leaves him with 49 silver remaining for hiring some mercenaries.
