Yes :)

For those that don't know, Gallaine was my own first ever Original D&D character--she made it to 4th/1st level as a fighter/magic-user before retiring.

During her career Gallaine had the amazing good fortune to gain both a magic sword of multiple wishes (with which she single handedly slew a purple worm) and also a staff of wizardry! The latter being due to an amazingly lucky d% roll of 100 on the wands and staves treasure table. Gallaine "retired" from play by using the staff of wizardry to teleport back to her home in Wildwood ;)

Anything your PCs know of this is only via the vaguest of tales or rumours...

I just joined that campaign as a 1st level hobbit. I am a tiny ant in Gallaine's shadow!

Now that's a heroic feat! Did she really do it all by herself?

...Also, not that it is too important, but it isn't Beringer, but Berin-gar (a like in scar), meaning Bear-Spear. I'll understand if it's hard to pronounce for you english-speaking barbarians, though! ;)

Yes, but she used one of the sword's wishes so she only needed to hit it once ;)

WOTE,

Being involved in all kinds of games - and being a moderator on a PbP gaming forum, where I see even MORE methods of PbP gaming - I just want to say that it makes me appreciate your game that much more. Your descriptions, your fairness, your moderation, your IDEAS... it all adds up to one great game. And it gives me something to emulate.

In all honesty, I have to say I wish the pace was a little faster, but given the things I know about your personal life and current undertakings, I understand all of the reasons why this game has the pace it does. At least it is a consistent one and I can live with that.

Anyway, in case I don't say it enough, or don't say it loudly enough, you run a great game. It gives me something to look forward to. It's something outside the mundane dreary day I can get excited about.

I suppose this is on my mind because I'm currently watching some great games - games that have been around for far less time than this one - slide downhill for various reasons. I know you put a lot of effort into keeping this one going, into keeping everyone active and participating. And I appreciate your effort.

So thanks for taking a chunk of time from your personal life to make us a part of your Hinterlands life.

Cheers,

Ethan
And Desmond
And probably even Mondes...

Seconded!

I see some really unfriendly stuff sometimes on the internet. This is a nice place to be. What better compliment can I give! :)

Can we start a Patreon campaign to pay Ways to post more often?

I'm almost not joking.

I agree of course!

I will state that the posting rate is fine, IMHO, the reason it can seem to bog at times is the number of players. BUT that is also the reason the game has such diversity and staying power. You don;t want to move on without giving most players a chance to say or do something. BUT you also can't wait forever....A tricky balance which WOTE handles very well.

I might have do some recruiting in my own game after the players have finished up the ruins they are in. hmm....
