Can we agree on a plan?

1. Food
1a. Figuring out if the relics can cure blindness
2. Scouting entrances into the town
2a. Finding out if the Sisters are still in town and, if so, getting them out
3. FInding a way to defeat the hobs
4. ???
5. Profit!

Jibes with what I'm saying just add

1. Food + Shelter

The ruins are the obvious choice as they provide a good vantage point, are some what defensible, and are fairly extensive underground should we need to retreat, or hide. Ulric, Dieter and Olaf are the experts in that regard, being the only surviving members of the original explorers.

We may want to clear that dungeon underground, or at least the first level, before we decide it's a safe place to retreat.

Though they are only half-sized and one has two heads, the party is still effectively minus one of the higher-level fighters (4th level, in fact, should he ever get a good night's sleep) and our only thief. Studying the staff in earnest to see if it is able to cure the halflings' blindness should be one of the primary goals.

Once we have the immediate danger of food resolved, Dorgan's stone might be useful in the ruins to point us to any nearby treasure sources within the ruins, as well. How well were these ruins searched, by the way? It was before my time...

I'll second this as our plan of action outline.

I think the actions have been basically covered in the Moonshine thread. Return to ruins, Olaf is hunting, people are planning, studying and or poking around. Ways will let us know if we missed something.

The relevant threads ar 04 and 05, it looks like the did not fully explorer it having been turned back some undead and then defeating a Water Demon scored some cash and left.

And it might or might not still be there. Worth checking for the arrows if nothing else, though.

As starvation seems to be a reoccurring theme in this game, I've been thinking a bit about how deprivation should be handled in OD&D based games. I think I'm onto something reasonable now -- stay tuned to find out exactly how your PCs are suffering...
