There are 7 original characters that first set out for the tower, each gets a full share. Two more characters joined later, they get 1/2 share of the coins to get them started.
Ulric, Mads, Olaf, Taines, Deiter, Victor, Anwyn: 4 gp, 104 sp, 2 small gems each
Flewellen, Padrig: 2 gp, 52 sp each
I think we should sit on the white gold ring and brass scepter until we can get them identified. We may be able to get a better price for the crimson eye gem as well.
That leaves:
Crude brass ring (2 sp)
Argent choker (17 gp)
Letter opener (7 gp)
Plain gold ring (2 gp)
Bronze and brass belt (20 sp)
Copper ring w/ stone (10 sp)
Worth a total of: 26 gp, 32 sp
Maybe we should just sell these and split the coin?

It may also be worth factoring in that Padrig has effectively "claimed" Krystin's spellbook (three 1st level spells). No XP will be awarded, but it is a valuable acquisition.
In addition, Rodrick's spellbook (two 1st level spells) has been returned to the Temple of Thuul. Some XP will be awarded for that.

Okay folks, let's work this out.
Let's assume that you go ahead and sell everything except the ring, scepter and Krystin's spellbook, and that
Gustave fetches the prices previously offered by Brigitta. You could then divide the loot like this...
Caine,
Ulric,
Mads,
Olaf,
Taines and
Dieter have been in from the beginning, so get 4 shares each.
Victor and
Anwyn (NPCs), and
Flewellen and
Padrig (late arrivals), get 2 shares each.
Gustave has only just arrived, but gets a half share for fetching some good prices (and to help him equip for the next adventure).
Like thus:
Four Share Lots; Caine, Ulric, Mads, Olaf, Taines and Dieter
- The White Gold Ring,
- The Brass Scepter,
- 11gp and 154sp,
- 11gp and 154sp,
- 11gp and 154sp,
- 11gp and 154sp.
Two Share Lots; Victor, Anwyn, Flewellen and Padrig
- 6gp and 77sp,
- 6gp and 77sp,
- 6gp and 77sp,
- Krystin's Spellbook (which Padrig already has).
One Share Lot; Gustave
If you want some more ready cash to equip for your next adventure, you could sell the scepter or the ring or both. Jurgen has already made a tempting offer for the scepter...

Guys, I trust you to split fairly. I am on vacation for the next ten days and my attendance will be even more sporadic.

Whoops. Sorry about that Caine. I had the extra coins in my notes but did not type them into my post. Honest. ;D
Waysoftheearth's suggestion works for me. It includes selling the large gem eye, but that is fine. Personally I'd rather get back to exploring than haggling.
Once this is done, Ulric would like to get together with Flewellen for some spell research.
We should certainly take the scepter to the Temple of Thuul as well as the ring; perhaps they could shed some light on their identity.
Following that, I'm for re-equipping and heading back to the ruined keep. We may wish to see if we can hire 10 or so men-at-arms to hold the surface while we explore below. Of course we may need to retake the keep from a new occupying force of hobs.

This is okay with me, but Olaf wants the cash, not the scepter or white gold ring.
However, the idol, scepter, and ring might be worth having "identified" before we just sell them. A sage, mage or cleric, might be very interested in any/all/none of them leading to, not necessarily more cash, but perhaps a patron.

Good idea! Any suggestions on how we do that?

Nothing I write here in the OOC thread has actually happened in game. I was just trying to help you guys sort stuff into possible shares. Any items that you don't want sold, you can substitute for the like amount of silver in any of the possible shares. I think Danhem was also of half a mind to keep the crimson eye stone instead of 125 sp (a good notion for minimising the load to be lugged about, perhaps).
Eris, did you see that both the scepter and the ring have been identified by Tor in the (010) Preparations thread?
