"A d**n shame to leave my crossbow behind," mutters Victor, hardly pleased. He spits. "Not to mention the food... I'm famished!"
Olaf realises he has a royal hunger himself. He has clearly missed at least one meal...
"I agree, but do you want to fight for it right now?" Olaf asks.

There is a sudden light and clatter and both Olaf and Victor look reflexively to their left!
Some 80ft down the dark passageway there is a bright burst of flame as a lantern comes from nowhere to explode down the left hand wall of the passage behind a raggedy-looking fighting-Man who tumbles out of the ceiling amid an enormous shower of silver coins!
He lands ridiculously flat upon his back with a great clatter and then bounces over himself as a score of items fly from his pack as if he were a rag doll being tossed by a dog.
At last he comes to a pause scarcely a foot in front of the now rather serious oil fire... while a few strangling silver coins continuing to fall, haphazardly from the ceiling to bounce and roll around him as if it were the most natural thing in the world to do so...
"d**n!" Olaf says, "Now I suppose we'll *have* to fight."
He peers at the ragged adventurer...he looks familiar, "Come on."
Olaf moves at a jog toward the fallen man.

"Gustave!" Olaf says in surprise, "Victor watch our backs while I pull him from the fire!"
"Where are the others?" Olaf asks hurriedly as he bats out the fire nibbling at Gustave's boot, "I think we are going to need them right soon."

"Ah, Olaf. Well, hello old chap, nice of me to drop by eh?", says Gustave, pulling himself to his feet and somewhat pointlessly dusting off his filthy and ragged tunic.
"Others...? Oh them, yes, well they would still be up top", he ponders, looking up toward the hole in the ceiling from which he recently was vommited.
"Wherever that was...", he adds, scratching as his chin, "We could call out and see if they can hear us..." and takes a deep breath...

The trio look up by the light of Gustave's lantern fire, and also the illumination of Olaf's fine lamp, and see a great dark hole leading up a steep slope into darkness.
One final silver penny slides out of the hole and drops to the passage where it clinks and bounces are few times among the great mess of other spilled silver and Gustave's gear.

"Come on down, its a great ride...and I've found a friend", he finishes, grinning at Olaf.
