Can this be done faster if both Flewellen and Ulric work together?
Yes indeed, you can use the better of 2 rolls for each period of research. But the cost per day will increase to 3d6 crowns.

The former can be completed in one more day, but he may turn up empty handed.

The latter will take a number of days (minimum of 4, but 50% likely to take longer, depending upon a few die rolls) and require 2d6 gold crowns worth of experimental materials per day (1gp = 6sp).
Flewellen is going to try and look through the archives for the spell and making mental notes of other spell titles he has read and may later come back to.

Okay, it appears Flewellen is going to be busy in the archives for a while. Is everyone else gathering at the Plow and Furrow to divide the loot (and get XP)?

(Copying a spell can take long hours of pen work -- perhaps even days. Which spells exactly does Padrig wish to copy, and in which tongue? His other scrolls are in Old Elvish, and The Elysian Mecum is written in Celestial. Padrig can also write in Elvish and Common (which some of the other PCs may be able to read))
I have 3 scrolls with a single copy of the following spells:
(x1) The Fiat Libation
(x1) The Irreproachable Susurrus
(x1) The Shill Feroe

I would like to copy these into my new spell book.
Should I keep it penned in the Celestial script or will it be quicker in Common or Elvish?
In doing so do I destroy the scroll or do they remain intact?

Later if I have time I would like to make scrolls of each of my spells from my spell book for use by me or someone else (I guess I use the common script).

Copying a scroll does not destroy it.

We should get the loot split up and earn some xp. I suggest equal shares for everyone that originally left from Ket for the tower including Taines. Since he helped in the battle with the hobs, Flewellen should get at least a half share.

Great! How long will it take to copy my 3 scroll spells into my spell book?
ie.,
(x1) The Fiat Libation
(x1) The Irreproachable Susurrus
(x1) The Shill Feroe

I will need to go back to the The Plow and Furrow tomorrow to get my share of the treasure and let them know how long I need to stay in the temple to complete my tasks.

That will depend upon the steadiness of Padrig's quill hand and virtue of his concentration (a few die rolls).

You might expect to complete a 1st level spell scroll within half a day to a day unless things go poorly, so creating three such scrolls might be expected to take a day and a half to three days.

The language you choose won't effect the time taken, but if you intend to preserve the beauty, value and secrets of The Elysian Mecum you should write in Celestial.

There is also a cost per scroll to consider, but as your hosts have provided some of the basic materials, the cost to you will be somewhat reduced. You can expect it to run to around a handful of silver shillings per scroll.

Of course...

Encounter 1 :
Hobgoblin patrol @ wilderness beyond Ket
A small, black iron key on a leather thong (Jurgen considers worthless),
A crude brass ring (Brigitta values at 2sp).

Encounter 2 :
Spider nest @ ruined tower, level 1
A white gold ring (Brigitta offers Gustave 100sp),
A damaged argent choker (Brigitta offers Gustave 17gp),
A gilded letter opener (Brigitta offers Gustave 7gp).

Encounter 3 :
Looted from Hobgoblin corpses in fountain chamber @ ruined tower dunjon level 1
A small clay pot of honey (1cp).

Encounter 4a :
Demon statues @ ruined tower dunjon level 2.
A single crimson eye gem (Brigitta offers Gustave 125sp).

Encounter 5 :
Water Wierd @ ruined tower dunjon level 1.
14 thumbnail sized gems (Brigitta offers Gustave 35gp for the lot),
A heavy silver goblet (Ulric & Olaf sold to Jurgen for 50sp),
A plain gold ring (Jurgen offers Ulric & Olaf 2gp),
A 1ft brass scepter (Jurgen offers Ulric & Olaf 98gp),
An oynx idol (Ulric & Olaf sold to Jurgen for 20sp),
A broad belt of brass and bronze clasps (Jurgen offers Ulric & Olaf 20sp).

Encounter 6 :
Hobgoblin attack @ ruined tower
A copper ring set with a dark stone (Brigitta values at 10sp).

Total coin unearthed were : 38gp, 323sp, 3200cp. However...
  • 14sp were paid for a whole party breakfast, wash and feast, and to rent the common room at the Plow and Furrow for a morning.
  • The 3200cp were changed for 456sp by Dieter and Flewellen.
  • The silver goblet and oynx idol were sold by Ulric and Olaf for 70sp.
So, the coin now present to be divided are 38gp and 835sp.

Note that XP will be awarded on the basis of what was originally unearthed. You will not miss out on XP for the 14sp spent from the treasure haul, nor any XP value lost when changing copper to silver, or selling goods.
