Gustave fingers the blackened scar in his armour where the fell blade was turned.

"My dear Hans", he says, "this is only part of the story - your beautifully crafted shield - gone! Struck from this very arm!", accompanied by some theatrical miming and dour expression.

"It is true, I owe you not once over but twice", he proffers, with a curt bow to the smith.

"I would that you craft me another the same, that praises to your arm may again sail from dungeons deep and mountains far, when the blades of the enemy are turned awry...", he pauses, wondering perhaps if he is being a little over melodramatic, "errr...yes, so perchance such a worthy commission will take time, I will also take a replacement to fill its place in the meantime, and I believe my fellows have requests from your also...", he finishes, deferring to his shorter brethren.

Gustave gives Dorgan the gold obtained from the coin trade, "Can't have an under-equipped dwarf eh?" he whispers.

OOC: Gustave makes a downpayment on a replacement fine matching metal shield (large), and also purchases a standard large shield for the interim.

If Dorgan sees any weapons on sale, he'll produce the letter-opener from his boot and ask the smith to venture his opinion on the value of the blade. If he sees only armor, he'll hold his tongue.

Duration: 1 turn, or until dismissed or dispelled, or the caster suffers damage.

It is a very fat poke none the less and it takes Olaf some time to count out his coins on the table in the great hall. His wealth totals 237 silver shillings and 6 gold crowns.

Josiane sets out across town with her usual determination. It is approaching noon on a mild spring day as she closes the gate behind her, and marches up the length of Eagle street to turn onto Church street. Ket is at its busiest, with the master craftsmen and wealthier merchants of the Traders' Concourse milling about in their court of commerce with scribes, bodyguards, porters and hanger-ons in tow.

Fortunately, as she continues to climb Church street toward the Temple of Thuul, the crowds thin somewhat. It takes less than a quarter hour to weave her way through all the alleys and traffic and reach the Temple grounds, and the Cloister where the Sisters keep themselves is not far behind the Temple.

She skirts the grounds and approach the low, sombre wall of the Cloister. The place is serenely quiet. Several large trees hang forlornly over the silent walls shading it and dampening any noise further.

The wall is 10ft high and of ancient stone with mossy mortar. The stout timber gate is firmly closed. Nobody is within sight...
