Dorgan will give a brief bow to Josiane, step in front of her, and also listen at the door.

This will hopefully give her enough time to examine the boxes.

Dorgan steps up to the door in the gloom (even he can't see much in this light) and presses his ear near to listen...

...but there doesn't seem to be much going on in the room beyond. Least wise, not much that is noisier than the shuffling and breathing of his own company.

Meanwhile, Josiane is now a bit further down the passage... further away from the main source of light that is the open door they entered by, some 30 or 40ft down the passage.

The only other source of light is a few tiny slither-gaps between timber planks in the wall ahead. These make for a few thin slashes of brightness in the otherwise deepening gloom.

Up there, she can just about see that there is another doorway to the left, and that opposite it the passage turns abruptly right.

As for the boxes, well it is hard to see anything more in this light, other than that there are just a few of them here -- most of them seemed to be stacked further back in the passage, nearer the storeroom. One that she does look into seems to be half filled with rusty old horse-shoes.

Josiane falls back into her position in the party order and gestures to Dorgan to open the door when he is ready.

Misunderstanding Josiane's intention perhaps, Dorgan trades places with her and moves further down the corridor, bypassing the door on the right side. He will cautiously peek around the corner and, should he see and hear nothing, will listen closely at the door on the left.

Should he hear nothing at that door, he will attempt to open it.

Dorgan has better eyes for the dark than do the others, and while he is quite capable in this low light, they can scarcely see a thing with the illuminating doorway 80ft or so behind them.

Dorgan first looks around the right hand turn, seeing another passageway which lead on 40ft or so before opening into a vast, dark space.

Apparently nobody is about, so he now checks the door to his left with his ear...

...and finds once more that all is quiet.

This being the case, he turns the handle and makes to enter the room quietly...

...which turns out not to be the case.

There is a distinct "bonk" as Dorgon pushes the door in just 6 inches or so. Then a heart beat of silence, and then a rousing clatter as something falls heavily to the ground inside the room.

Then the quiet returns.

Dorgan notes that it is dark in the room beyond, and unpleasantly smelly. He also notes with distaste that he cannot easily push the door in any further -- something inside must be blocking it.

Dorgan will pull the door closed, step back into the rear hallway, and silently wait to see if there's any response from inside the building.

While waiting, he'll ponder the smell from inside the room to see if he can place what is causing it from memory.
