"Hey, everybody! Look! I've got scabs now! I think these might be Potions o' Curin'! If me and Wilbur drink these, I think we'd feel strong enough to take a peek at Level 3. What do you all think?"

Wilbur would be willing to try one of the potions, also.

Dropping down to lvl 3 is (of course) fine with me, but I feel maybe it should be a unanimous vote (as opposed to a majority vote) due to the increased risk for all party members?

I'm good with it more XP would be nice, but next level I'm hoping for more HP ;0

Wilbur and Willie chug the potions and feel good as new! They feel, they will be easily able to recognize this same type of potion in the future. Potions o' Curin' are 'dentified!

Wilbur gains a handsome scar on his face, from where the fennec skeleton slashed him.

Willie hopefully probes his teeth with his tongue, but the gap is still there; the potion didn't magically regenerate his missing teeth (from the First Adventure).
Wilbur 1d6+1=6hp bringing him to 12/12
Willie 1d6+1=5hp bringing him to 10/10

Perfect rolls, nice!

@acodispo's math was right on the money; the party needs 650xp total for Willie to level up. Any combination of 6.5 HD monsters or 650gp treasure.

@mgtremaine I hear you about Kiplyn's below-average hit points. On the plus side, in my mind, that makes him the smallest and sneakiest of the Hobbets! He unfortunately won't reach 4th level until 4,500xp, quite a ways to go. I don't want to jinx it, but if he can ever manage to reach 18,000xp, he will earn the coveted rank of Burglar (with 4 hit dice!!) and his name will go down in history as a true Hobbet Hero.

Dame Simonetta would prefer to remain on this level (she's still worried something will walk off with our treasure stash), but she'll go with the majority if we choose to head to level 3.

Just so y'all can clearly visualize, here is a map highlighting (in red) the unexplored areas of Level 1. The party's current location is area 28, and the treasure is cached in area 21.

Seems a shame not to at least see if those south tunnels lead back to 18 while we are so close to them...

"Ahhh, much better!" sighs Willie after having quaffed the potion. His speech is still a little whistle-y from the missing teeth but he's getting used to it.

"I've changed my mind, I say we take a look at what's south of here before we head to level 3."
I've switched my thinking -- there are enough unexplored areas nearby on level 1 that we could probably earn those needed XP pretty quickly, and return to the surface with our treasure. Let's see if we can find a loop to 17 or 18!

Dame Simonetta isn't too happy about having to crawl through that tunnel which Kiplyn located, but she will lead the way nevertheless. When the passage forks, she'll take the eastern-heading tunnel (unless anyone would rather investigate the southern one first?)
