Freid,
"We have surprise, at least, and if we wait, try to get sneaky or fancy, we might not."
"Here's my idea. All of us just rush them! If we take them down, great. If we have to retreat, we retreat back here and spring the fire trap here at the gate. Us on this side, them on the other in the fire." Freid says raising his shield and holding his sword aloft,
"I'll lead the charge if you're with me!

"'At 'em then!" squeaks Dopey, drawing his knife. "I'll lick 'em! I'll knock 'em silly!"
And with a "Huzzah!", the hobbet scampers down the corridor, with fire in his eyes.

Leudigar checks his crossbow is ready before heading after the hobbet, muttering something about how HE is supposed to be the impetuous one...

Dopey overtakes Leudigar's position to join Fried on the verge of coming into sight of the room; Leudigar follows after the eager Hobbet...

Akbar remains near the entrance, enjoying a bit of mountain fresh air and a quick puff of acrid pipesmoke while he awaits some sign from those ahead.

Karl moves up as quietly as he can, following his comrades. Bow stowed, sword and shield at the ready.

Zax puffs his moustache at the ledger for being written in non-intelligable goblin scrawl, then suddenly catches a whiff of pipe smoke gently drifting into the room from the passage above.
He is vaguely aware of some long-legs hoo-ha going on about him as various parties charge down the stairwell, but is already on his way back toward the source of the dreamy odour, his generously proportioned proboscis twitching in anticipation.

As much as The Herald hates non-humans, he hates seeing Men needlessly fall in battle even more. Reluctantly, he follows the others. He will guard the rear this time, making sure their line of retreat is clear.
Before he leaves the room, he digs out his three flasks of oil from his pack and lays them on the desk. He also lights a torch and places it on the stone floor near the desk, but not so near that the desk would catch fire while they're gone.

Everyone bar Zax and Akbar --busy with duties of the pipe--advances toward Fried's position and the cusp of the next room.
"Wazzat?" growls a goblin voice, and there is a sudden break in the general ruckus emanating from beyond. Everyone pauses, holding their breath a moment...
