Rhegaer pokes around the chest, he find no false bottom nor anything else of interest. He opens the flask and smells it.... Yuck, smells like sour wine, very sour, almost vinegar. Passes it on to Phadian who also smells it.. Yuck...
Alrik picks up the bundle of sticks, they are each about 7 inches long and 1/2 inch thick.
eAsp:roll 1d6
mgt's roll comes to 3 [3 on 1d6]
Alrik thinks they are quickfire sticks a sort of alchemists toy to produce fire by striking them against a rough surface. "You see they use sulfur that get built up on the tip and a little bit of fire will cause them to ignite.... These look well done, I wonder what else is in there.." Alrik continue s to inspect the sticks, smelling and touching the ends.

Alrik appears lost in thought, then says "Perhaps the sticks can be used to ignite whatever is in that flask, it might be worth pouring out a smal bit of it in a puddle on the floor here, I'll use one of the sticks to light it and we can see what happens..."

Phadian
"The content of the flask certainly does not smell like anything curative I have ever dealt with, but certainly can see if it is flamable"
Pours a little bit of the flask contents into a depression on the floor and steps well back.

Rhegaer the Red
"Why use one of these quick-strikes when we have an open flame? Save these for when we need to light a fire in a hurry..."

After some debate Rhegaer grabs a few long strands of grass, sticks them in the fireplace to ignite them and returns to Phadian. Some liquid is poured out and touched with the flame... szzzzz. Nothing, far to high water content to ignite. It must be as it smells very sour wine.

Alrik packs the fire-sticks away and hands the extra torches to Rik.
"We need to rest, and I would like to study my spellbook. Is this room defensible enough?"

HAGWEN
"Might be better to rest outside: Cleaner air. An' I don' like the idea of poor Rik bein' left alone wi' them gobs that long."

Coln
"Well, if we go outside when we come back whoever is down here might find out and then the place could be crawling with more goblins. We should at least find out a little more about what is down here before we go."

Rhegaer the Red
"Now that Hagwen is with us, I think we could explore a bit more. But when we're done exploring, I vote for camping above ground, as well."
OOC: according to most game mechanics, staying underground overnight significantly increases the number of random encounter rolls, so it is always advisable to stay above ground when possible.

Overview: Phadian, who is injuried, and Alrik who is out of spells would like to rest. Hagwen warns there are more enemies, Rhegaer and Coln would like to explore more and rest outside.
The party discusses their options, it seems agreed that they should move on. Rhegaer sketches out the map he has in his head. Where do you go and what is the marching order?
