Phadian

"After we finish with this room I vote we continue down the hallway outside this room." Places himself near door as others search the room, listening for anyone approaching.

(Assuming up is north on the map?) "Aye, let's explore the unexplored eastern tunnel outside this room," Urist agrees. "We should clear out any remaining orcs so we can loot in peace."

Alrik searches the the font and pews for anything overlooked or untold.

random die is tossed - mgt's roll comes to 13 [13 on 1d20] - Nothing is found

Urist and Phadian look around the back of the room for an exit.

Nothing is found

Rhegaer stands in the front of the great Stone Chest, seeing no lock, he hefts the lid open.

random dice - mgt's roll comes to 7 [4 3 on 2d12]

The weight of the stone lid is not enough to prevent Rhegaer from pushing it aside. Much to everyones surprise there are no poisons clouds, deadly arrows, or anything other then a short intake of breath as Rhegaer looks within.

Piles of coins greet the warrior, and he spies several small bags already collected. Must be thousands of copper and gold coins. "What's this? A book, a ceramic bottle and a Long Sword with fancy stones and filagree on the scabbard."

Alrik sighs, his search coming up empty. He then hears Rhegaer mutter somehting about a book.

"A book? This I must see!" Alrik says as he approaches the chest. He will carefully examine the book front and back, opening it if he can deduce its contents.

Rhegaer reaches into the chest and picks up the sword and scabbard with a grunt of satisfaction.

Alrik moves towards the chest and spies a book amongst the gold and cooper coins. Pale Brown leather, neatly bound with Silver Elven runes. But before he can do much more then glance Rhegaer reaches out and grasps the scabbard of the sword, lifting it from the chest. At once the red stones on the scabbard seem to burn with an inner light, the whole of the sword seems to case an aura which Alrik quickly senses. To Rhegaer the sword feels warm and comfortable in his grasp. But he is taken with the urge to draw it and look upon the blade.

"Rhegaer, be careful my friend, there are powerful enchantments imbued in that blade," Alrik says.

Alrik takes the book back to a pew and sits, studying the runes on the cover. Are they a form of Elvish he can read?

"Ooh, shiny!" beams Urist as he moves to scoop the gold and copper coins into his empty large sack.

Rhegaer resists the urge to draw the blade until such a time as there are enemies to smite...

Phadian looks as if he is about to say something, sighs and continues watching the door and listening for orcs.
