The number of posts reflects the quality of the game, I think. It's a real privilege to be part of this. Many thanks, ways!
How far is Murphy off 2nd Level Mule? ;D

Owing to his getting poor shares in the treasure, Murphy is still quite a way from 2nd level.
Masterful tack and harness crafted by the Elves for unicorns, gold inlaid horseshoes wrought by the Dwarfish runesmiths, bejeweled saddlebags, whimsical tail and main decorations, a squad of grooms, and a filigree nosebag perfumed and filled with Oats Royale would be considered good treasure for a mule...

So here is a gap in my old school experience: what do we do with the mule while we're supposed to be dungeon delving? I've never had one in a game.

In my experience he gets eaten by bugbears. More's the pity!

According to OD&D, mules are the only "horses" agile enough to be taken into dungeons.
Typically they would be left at a camp site with a bunch of other hirelings and camp followers.

I see. We don't have any of those and bringing Murphy into the dungeon might make a bit of noise. Maybe there is a stable we can set him up inside the wall?

Not sure how much "dungeon" exploring we'll be doing just yet. We're tasked with retrieving some important scrolls/books from the Abbey and returning them to the Sisters of Mercy, right?
Do we have any clear indications as to where those items are, by the way?
I didn't really think it would involve too much of delving deeper into a dungeon; rather, something more akin to finding a secret bookcase in the library or some such thing.

Not knowing what we're getting ourselves into is a constant of this game, and most of the fun.
I'm suspecting that we'll be fighting zombie nuns here in a bit.
If nothing else Murphy can provide a filling meal when we're running for our lives and out of rations...again.

As long as they're Shawn of the Dead zombies and not 28 Days Later zombies!
