I think a had a short game with a sadistic DM long ago, whose City State Guards would kill everyone just for littering ... Ok maybe it wasn;t that bad but I know we rarely let him DM.

I'd be fine with moving forward (stay on target re. the Sisters), but I think it would be wise to leave a token of good will. The group could use allies if the situation in Ket continues to deteriorate.

That's the thing, though, isn't it? Looking through the party's material resources, I can't really see us wanting to give anything up. We could split the party again, but I don't think ways or the group would be too keen on that. Perhaps an offer of a good word in their name to the clergy? Offer to return the favor of hospitality at a later date?
At the word 'Concourse', perhaps Rufus would be willing to spill more beans regarding his former whereabouts? Just some rambling thoughts.

Perhaps we can promise to stop here again on the way back and then make formal arrangements to serve as go between? Or figure out someway to help him get resupplied. I think you are right in that this is a potentially great ally. Eventually fighter forces will be needed if "we" want to break the blockades.

But it's a story hook, and if we can use each other for mutual gain, at least for a while, I'll support it.

Yeah, I like this approach. When/if we return from our mission for the Sisters we might have some more loot with us, too.
OTOH, I'd love to get Eberhart and his men to start breaking the blockades along the roads so the caravans could travel into Ket. It's got to be done and I'd just as soon he get the glory...and thanks of the Merchants. I'm almost positive, he'd be the Concourse's Hero...the human contingent of it anyway...if he broke the blockade.

I am all for seeking out the Boar once we have completed our mission as well.
On a separate note, Ways, what does Dorgan know of the Mountain Guard?

He does. They are a kind of Dwarf "military police"-esque order. They are respected by the law-abiding sorts, and are an obstacle to those that would undermine the Dwarf kingdom.

Greetings All,
The Christmas season is upon us already...
Just a heads up to let you all know that I'll be heading interstate tomorrow to spend a week with the wider family. I'll try to keep things ticking over, but I expect Hinterlands will slow to crawl while I'm away, but will return to normal the following week.
Thanks to all for your contributions to the game, it has been and continues to be a hugely rewarding experience for me, and I hope for you all too.
When we resume next week we'll be starting on The Abbey proper!
Wish you all safe and merry Festivities
