"See my burnt body, Dieter?" Pelenwin mutters angrily. "That was for you. Remember that next time you run off on your own to get yourself killed."

OOC: Ways, do we know how many hit points we have recovered after the battle? I'd like to establish a new marching order.

Gustave props himself up against the wall and sips from his waterskin meekly.
"This shortcut is turning into a saga worthy of a tavern tale or two.", he observes, flicking at one of the many rents in his armour.
"It would seem that a brief hiatus is in order no?"

"Perhaps we should hole up here until we can regain our strength before we press on", he adds, rolling and prodding his shoulder painfully. "What I really need is a good massage. A visit from the Duchess of Knut would be most assuredly appreciated right now - she is a wizard with tired muscles..."

Tombowings; all those that have recently regained consciousness are on 1 hit point. A proper rest (of at least 10 minutes, and hence a wandering monster roll) is required to regain more hit points.

Highbough and Ulric both sweep some of the ash and dust aside with their cloaks and note that there appears to be a pattern of some description upon the floor... hidden beneath the ash.

"Indeed...rest," Ulric says absently. He is intent upon the pattern being revealed on the floor. He continues to sweep the ash looking to unlock the secret hidden beneath. "Someone should keep watch."

Ulric suggests that "someone else" should make a watch, but in truth he is more interested in the runes which are revealed with every pass of his swishing robe... "What ever have we here?" he hisses non-syllablantly to himself, not realising that he had subconsciously slipped into the Draconic tongue.

As he reveals more of the great pattern he becomes ever more convinced that the strange symbols carved into the rock form part of some sorcery which Dieter inadvertently tripped... but whatever mystery is contained therein will take some divining. He would, at the very least, need to fully reveal the pattern, and that will take some sweeping.

Of course there might also be the risk that the conjuring will be triggered again!

Wibert will get the treasure and food Mads was carrying. He will drop 5 daggers (2 encumberance) and replace only this much with silver and gold coin as much as possible and not so much the copper.
"I will help carry Mads stuff, for we will need the food most of all if we are to get back to Kent", says Wibert as he carries out his task.
"You know there must be a kitchen in here, we could use some food!", says Wibert to anyone listening.

After doing his he will go stand guard, while the others rest to heal.

Desmond sits up slowly, blinking his eyes and clutching at the wounds on his chest.

"I need a rest," he manages to murmur to nobody in particular.

He looks over at Mads' body, where Wibert is sorting coin and provisions, and slowly gets to his feet.

Quietly limping over to his body to help Wibert with the sorting, Desmond notices Mads' cold iron axe on the ground next to him.

He bends down and wraps his hands around the handle.

"It served you well, Mads," he whispers quietly, "Maybe it will do me some good."

Then, a little louder, "If nobody else minds, I'd like to try wielding Mads' old axe in battle..."

(OOC: ...And as long as Desmond doesn't get any To Hit penalties from using it, WOTE)

If this is ok with everyone, then he'll leave his sword and take up the axe.
