"Good idea," says Victor a few minutes later around a huge mouthful of buttered scone, jam and cream as he sees Padrig watching them patiently.

"You keep a watch out," he manages and returns to shoveling fresh strawberries into his mouth as he thickly butters what must surely be his eighth scone.

With his hunger finally sated, and an almost too full feeling setting in, Ulric begins to look over the mass of wealth they accumulated from their first foray into this very dangerous land.

"Well," he begins. "The coins are easy enough to divide. We should trade the copper for silver as soon as possible. Either that or the warriors can take their share in copper and trade it for steel. We can each take one of these small gems, they're easier to carry than coin. We could try to sell the rest."

"These other items are a little more questionable. Some may have been enchanted by ancient sorcerers or shamen." Ulric's voice betrays a bit of excitement over this possibility. "These rings, the scepter, and the statue are likely sources of magic. Selling them before we find out would be foolish in my opinion. The choker, letter opener and goblet we should try to fence for some silver."

"This is awfully good grub!" Olaf says, "You sure you don't want to join us, Padrig?"

After a few minutes, feeling a bit sated, Olaf says, "Now we really should divide our spoils and talk about the future."

"First we must consider the number of shares." Olaf says sitting back, "We have two fallen comrades, both Templars, and I propose that each receive a full share of the coins. Their shares to be contributed to their orders...along with their effects. If Padrig is joining our group, I propose we front him a half share to help fund him, and finally, I propose we reserve another half share to reward those who have supported us so far...a few extra silver to our current host, a few more to the merchant that sold us the map, and to the farmer who owns the barn that provided our resting place last night."

"That would be 1, 2, 3...8..um?" Looking around Olaf frowns and adds, "Aren't we down one? Um, where's Mads?"

OOC: Somebody help me out here, 9 shares for active PC's, 1 share for the 2 dead PC's, 1/2 share for the 1 new PC, and 1/2 share to TIP current allies. Is that right?

"I think we need to find that merchant we met earlier and try to deal with him." Olaf says, "He could be a friend on this Merchant's Guild that seems to have much power here in Ket. He would also know where we can get items appraised and perhaps buy, or direct us to buyers, for the other items."

"Oh, and shouldn't we report the barricade we 'discovered' on the road?" Olaf puts air quotes around discovered as he says it, "Surely the merchants here need to know that the Goblins...the Snorks...are attempting to block the road from the Kingdom. Probably, to charge tariffs to any who seek to travel to or from Ket. Possibly to just rob and murder any travelers?"

There are 9 PCs (Caine, Mads, Dieter, Olaf, Ulric, Taines, Flewellen, Padrig and Gustave), 2 NPCs (Anwyn, Victor), and 2 deceased PCs (Rodrick, Krystin).

Flewellen and Padrig have joined part way thru (taking over after Rodrick and Krystin were slain, respectfully). Gustave has just joined. Anwyn and Victor (former PCs) have both been present throughout and argue that they are worth a full share each.

Padrig and Victor (both Lawful) like the idea of giving shares for the two fallen templars. Everyone else (Neutral) thinks to themselves its worth returning Rodrick's effects and a small donation to his Order in case you need their help later, but Roddrick's prayer book is a valuable item indeed to simply give away!

Krystin's effects -- including her prayer book -- would most easily go to Padrig (perhaps as part or all of his share?) partly to placate him, his order, and his Elvish Gods, but also to benefit the party if he uses them to help others. There is no Order of Heledd anywhere conveniently nearby.

Mads arrives back at the Plow and Furrow, and almost has to fight his way past the fat proprietor to get into the common room where his fellow are feasting and discussing the division of the loot.

He is looking clean shaven, neat and trim. Very dapper.

You need to allocate all of the treasure to party members for the purposes of dividing the XP. You can spend the loot however you like after that, of course.

There are a total of 38gp, 309sp, 3200cp to divide, a simple matter for Ulric's mathematical mind, but beyond Anwyn's skill (intelligence 7). You are all aware that a money changer will typically charge 7 copper pennies for each silver shilling.

Ulric and/or Flewellen had best investigate some means of divining the nature of these goods then... the Traders' Concourse is said to house a respectable library of history and lore.

It may also be worth sending someone off to get the precious stones and other jewellery evaluated by a reliable gem cutter or jeweller.
