The room is pitch dark. The light penetrates maybe 3' into the room

Wiglaff request that Tauriel poke her spear into the darkness. Does the light cut off entirely at 3 feet? Or is it blocked by some substance? What happens to the spear (if anything)?

The light just cuts off - there is no resistance, and nothing happens to teh spear

I don't remember if magic swords shed light in this game or not.

If they do, Rhod will poke his sword into the room, and see if that does anything to the darkness.

Otherwise, I'm afraid, we'll need a Light spell of some sort.

Let's try the sword first, and then I think Aldbane has a light spell.

Franklin explains to his new hires that this is normal, and not to panic: We encounter magical puzzles like this often.

Aldbane waits to see what effect the sword has on the darkness, if needed he will cast light in the room.

If the sword doesn't work, Maloof tugs on Aldbane's elbow. "Hey, don't waste your spell, I got this!" He gives a rising whistle as he spins on his heel, and ends with a finger snap.

The sword only slightly glows, so illuminates very little. But then after Maloof's outburst, a light like a torchlight hangs in the darkness. With a *poof*, the light is gone, but the magical darkness is also, and now your lanterns illuminate that you walk 10 feet of corridor to a 40' square room. Your entrance is on the 20' section from the right of the wall (the north wall). There is a door on the east wall at the top, and a corridor leading out on the west wall, 20' down.

In the middle of the room is a human skeleton

Maloof winks and then exclaims. "Well! What do you think happened to him?", pointing at the skeleton.
