The first one is viable for a chaotic fighter
The second one looks like an awesomely dashing villain-type to me

I thought so, too! But I'm still hung up on meshing a Chaotic with a (relatively speaking) good party. Suppose it depends on how one defines chaos... But according to the DD book definition, it's mostly "bad" chaotic and not really "random" chaotic.
Maybe an Anti-Gustave?

Is this right?
Lawful Hobbet
Str 7 [ 4, 3, 2 ]
Int 5 [ 1, 3, 1 ]
Wis 8 [ 6, 1, 1 ]
Con 11 [ 2, 6, 5 ]
Dex 8 [ 1, 3, 2 ]
Cha 9 [ 3, 4, 2 ]
Gold 16 [ 4, 6, 6 ]
Chaotic Goblin Ratcatcher
Str 14 [ 21 - 7 ]
Int 16 [ 21 - 5 ]
Wis 13 [ 21 - 8 ]
Con 10 [ 21 - 11 ]
Dex 13 [ 21 - 8 ]
Cha 12 [ 21 - 9 ]
Gold 5 [ 21 - 16 ]
Cuz... now I want to play a chaotic goblin ratcatcher!

You would take the coin set out BEFORE you reverse the stats, so your chaotic goblin ratcatcher would have 160sp for starting coin.
He could be the Smee to my dashing charismatic chaotic fighter!
"There's no adventure here."
"You call this no adventure?"
"Death is the only adventure I have left, Smee."

So you're telling me, on top of having excellent stats, Smee is a
wealthy chaotic goblin ratcatcher? I'm digging this "evil twin" rule indeed!

Now that I would like to see!
Though Gustave was actually neutral (though he was certainly leaning toward lawful) so an anti version would have to be...err...chaotic lawful (bipolar?)
...and I wonder how you would go about with a penchant for anti-pastries (or perhaps an anti-penchant for pastries?)

Oh boy things might get weird fast!
I'm digging out the SR#2 ranger to give it a read. But still thinking I see
1) Human Ranger
2) Elven Fighter/M-U
3) Human Neutral Magic-User (aka Druid maybe)

Chaotic implies anything along the spectrum of bad/nasty/evil. Evil High Priests are the "model" chaotic citizens
The makeup of "the party" isn't yet defined. Precedence says players are mostly inclinded toward lawful/neutral, true.
However, it is a time of war in the Hinterlands. War attracts many unscrupulous sorts, and even ordinary Men might find themselves swept up in the mad lawlessness of terrible circumstance. Of course, the genuine
villains will be exploiting and compounding these circumstances their own reasons...

Aside from the gold, it does appear to be theoretically correct. The Evil Twin rule is intended for players whose scores are
entirely below average, but in the end I'm happy to go with whatever odd-ball options the players can dream up.
This somewhat extreme example does make me wonder whether the Hobbet racial adjustments are "exactly right" however... hmm, I'll have to ponder that one...

I see you fear our Goblin overloads, that is wise.

He would eschew pastries and deserts of ALL types, shun beautiful elfin maidens, and make FUNNY jokes! Hehe...
