Desmond looks up at the ceiling of the chapel and lets out a sigh. Looking back down at Helmut, he tries to sound excited when he says, "Excellent! Another guardian of Thuul."

He doubts he is successful.

Jerking his first head at the crumbled breech in the wall of the chapel, he adds, "I don't think them out there in black even used to be sisters in the order. I think they were just women who got turned. Either way, they were steadfast killers what needed to be put down. So don't hold that against us and Dieter here..."

Pleasantries are thus exchanged...

What do people propose be done about the gaggle of weary pilgrims gathered by the front gate?

And about the unwholesome crater in the floor of the chapel?

Dorgan is tired, and wary of these new folks wandering in dangerous lands. He'll find a corner, sit down, and let Dieter sort all this out. Phew, this armor is heavy.

Desmond gives the rest of the party a quick glance to make sure he doesn't see any reservations on anyone's faces.

Seeing none (aside from Dorgan's grumblings about dark dwarves), he turns back and addresses the trio of newcomers.

"Well... I don't know what to tell you about the dozen followers you have waiting outside. We do not have the abbey fully secured - we've yet to even step foot in the lower level and there is a dipple genge running around, trying his best to ply his deceptions. Just as importantly, though, we have a man missing and we aim to recover him. That is where we are headed right now, into that pit to see if we can track him down."

He twists his mouth to one side as he chews on the inside of his cheek in thought.

"S'pose you could bring them in and get them secured away in a room until we can give the abbey the all-clear. Or you could leave them where they are for the time being and join us down the pit..."

"Thank you Olaf and Desmond. You be friends then and if I can speak for my friends Helmut and Valorn are happy to join such strong warriors as you, to find your missing man, and to clean out the evil that walks these walls. For truth be told I feel sick at the site of dead bodies in the court yard behind us. Then we can get our weary pilgrims and head for Ket where we are to rejoin the full troop of Knights Templar we where travelling with", states Ashtad.

Desmond sucks his teeth, "Oh, ummmmm... about Ket. Last we saw, it was overrun with gobs and wargs and... Maybe a giant or three."

"Really... Lets hope the troop of Knights Templar are up to the task!", says Ashtad.

Dorgan pipes up, "If yer troop of Knights Templar realizes that Ket is taken, what will they do? If they're defeated in battle, where will they regroup? Be nice to link up with them 'n combine forces, once we find our man."

Highbough is here. Beneath the shroud of his dark cloak, the ancient grey elf is nothing but parchment skin, fragile bones, and silver wisps of hair. If he has an opinion what the party should do next, he keeps it to himself.

As the discussion continues, Desmond starts making his way to and then down the stairs.

He calls out over his shoulder, "Time's wasting..."
