Olaf looks around frowning and mutters, "I sure would be happier if all the party was together and not scattered out to who knows where. Dieter, Highbrough are somewhere...and where are Nidhogg and Andaros? I thought they were right behind us.

Desmond (wisdom 6) is convinced the noise was the portculis falling, but Koch (wisdom 11) isn't so sure. He thinks to himself that the noise came from the deeper down the passage rather than above, but he doesn't know what else it could have been so he agrees with Desmond's assessment. For now.

Olaf takes his hand off the door handle and allows Wibert access to the door... first the eager Halfling listens keenly, but despite his sensitive ears he can make out little more than Olaf could.

Then Wibert is intent on searching the door for traps. Well, that is a thing... the 3ft something Halfling runs his clever fingers all around the lower half of the door frame, right up to the height of the door knob, but he can scarcely reach much higher. Nothing seems to be in the way, but oddly it doesn't seem entirely dark within. Perhaps there is a torch or candle burning on the other side?

Whatever (wisdom 5)... this degree of searching does not reveal any obvious sign of a trap. Then again, how would one trap a door anyway?
