Maloof quickly pushes the button for the previous floor, hoping the door will close fast enough!

Re: Delve the Fourteenth

The elevator door closes in time, and lurches up a floor, opening onto an empty room on level 2

"Well, I guess level 2 is better than nothing," Aldbane says.

The elevator is near the lower-right corner, just south of room 27. Unfortunately, it's the opposite end of the level as the stairs down to level 3 (upper left corner of level 2).

So our choices are:
1) Formulate a plan to deal with the jelly, and use the elevator.
2) Circle level 2 clockwise to the stairs
3) Circle level 2 counterclockwise to the stairs
4) Explore level 1 or 2 instead
[ADDED] 5) Explore level 4

My vote would be #1, but since I don't have any kind of plan (clever or otherwise) my alternate vote would be for #2, it seems to go through the least number of rooms in order to reach the stairs to level 3. But if anyone has *any* kind of plan for defeating the jelly, I'm all for it!

#2 sounds good.

Re: Delve the Fourteenth

I'm not saying I recommend it, but you could always go lower, like to floor 4!

^I'll add that as option #5. My vote still remains the same, however.

I only have two responses (probably my fault for only posting twice a month!), so we will go with #2

The way looks pretty clear, and you have no encounters on the way. You are now on level 3, at the bottom of the stairs

I notice that in player map for level 3, at room 12 at the bottom, the stairs are marked as "up", but they are actually "down"

Thank you, fixed!

It looks like the quickest way to get to where we wanted to go would be: go south to room 37, then room 36, then south to the "red temple" room, then through room 18 and use the secret door to room 20, then to room 19 and north to where we were. A shorter route would be to go through the "fire/flame" room, but I don't think we are prepared for that.

However, along this route we pass near a number of unexplored areas (including a door just a bit to the east of our current position, and also a different passage just south of our position, for a couple of examples). I'm personally in favour of exploring these as we progress, what does everyone think?
