The Rules of Fight Club

Here's how I see it working.

Each bout of Fight Club will involve one or two players and a referee (that'll be me).

Part 1: Party Generation
Prospective players can experiment with building a PC party over in the Locker Room.
-- PC parties should be built according to the Players Quick Starter.
-- A party can be any size the player likes, up to and including 10 figures.
---- Noting that mainstream play these days seems to assume parties of around 4--6 figures.
-- A party can be any valid combination of PCs from the Players Quick Starter.
-- No individual pre-gen can appear more than once in a party.
-- If the additional pre-gen tables are used, then:
---- No individual table gen'd PC can appear more than once, and
---- Each table gen'd PC should have a stat line similar to those of the pre-gens.
-- A party can include mercenary fighters if the PC(s) have gold to hire them (at 5 GP per head).
-- Spells will be randomly assigned wherever the Quick Starter lists more than one possible spell.

Part 2: Preparing to Fight
Fights will involve either two players and a ref, or one player and a ref.
-- If there is one player: the player will run the good guys (a PC party, generated in step 1) the ref will run the monsters side.
-- If there are two players: the players will decide who will run the good guys (a PC party, generated in step 1) and the bad guys (the monsters).
-- The ref will set up a topic for the fight in the All Fights are Here sub-forum.
-- The ref will assign or dice for the dungeon room/fight scene and the monster side.
---- The ref will hand over the monster side to the monster player, if there is one.
-- A party must declare a marching order.
---- Each rank can comprise one or two figures.
---- Each rank is assumed to occupy 10ft depth in the order, unless specified otherwise.
-- The ref will arrange the monster side's initial disposition (with the monster player, if there is one).

Part 3: The Fight!
Fights will be according to the V5 combat rules as presented in the Referee's Quick Starter.
Fights will be run as a PBP game, moderated by the ref (yours truly).
Fights will begin with a surprise check for both sides, and run from there.
Fights may, potentially, be brutally short. Particularly if one side is surprised, or if either side has a sleep spell. Such is life.
-- Players can re-use the same party for multiple bouts.

Part 4: The Leaderboard
I will try to keep a running tally of wins and losses (Players vs Monsters) updated.

Ideally, we'll also have a healthy discussion about any rules or text amendments along the way.

Enjoy!
