Let's open it up! Who wants to do the honours?

Rhod will stand watch while the rest search the room. Once the chest is opened, if there are other things than gold pieces in their, then he might use Detect Magic. But only if there's something we suspect is magical.

Maloof will certainly open the chest if there are no other volunteers. Even though it looks safe, he will go about it in a cautious way: standing to the side and attempting to pry the lid up with the end of his mace.

Re: Delve the 11th

Satisfied that the bedroom holds no other secrets, and while the chest is being opened, Wiglaff returns to the sand room & takes a quick survey:

of the room's size
whether the walls have any unusual features
how deep the sand is
and whether the sand has any patterns or signs in it beyond the tracks the party has undoubtedly made

Franklin shares with Wiglaff any details he has observed in his time guarding the sand room.

It looks like it will need finger dexterity

The room extends 10 feet further to the east. It is 40 feet across. 30 feet down on the east wall is a door. The room also extends 60 feet to the west, giving it a total size of 80' x 40'. On the far west wall, there is a door 20' down the wall. In the bottom SW corner, a corridor leads west.

The sand seems to be about 4 inches deep. It is rilled and rippled, like a soft wind has been blowing on it

Re: Delve the 11th

I've been misinterpreting the layout! I thought we were already in the sand room, and the bedroom was beyond it to the west, but now I think I see.

Is this map roughly correct? #33 is the bedroom, #34 is the sand room. To the north is the elevator room, etc.

It looks like the position of the door is out of whack, but I think that's due to a general 10ft misalignment in my map that we've noticed before.

Re: Delve the 11th

"Room 33" should be off the east wall of the corridor, not the south wall

Also, in the sand room, there should be a door on the east wall, 20 feet from the bottom
