Out Of Character

Nice Druid; presumably fighting capability is per the M-U also? Or aren't we using FC? Then err... how would we beat on normals?

Re: Out Of Character

Great question! I am vacillating between using Fighting Capability vs. the tried-and-true v4 system based on Hit Dice.

Which method do you think is more fun, and why? :)

Re: Out Of Character

Not sure about more fun, but the main distinction, as I see it, is:

To start out, we had attack and defensive capabilities as two separate things.

If these two separate things get rolled into a single stat called HD, then attack capability (number of attacks vs normal, THAC2 versus fantastics) and defence capability(number of hits that can be sustained) will always scale proportionally.

If, on the other hand, we keep a separate FC stat for attack (number of attacks vs normal, THAC2 versus fantastics) and HD stat for defence (number of hits that can be sustained) then we have more options when it comes to differentiating figures. I.e., it becomes possible to have a figure with loads of HD but weak attack, or a figure with few HD but strong attack. More awkward to do that with just a single HD stat.

Re: Out Of Character

I will be out of town for the 3-day holiday weekend, then hopefully we'll get started with the adventure next week. I suspect we might get a few more players once people see how much fun we're having. :)

Re: Out Of Character

Players who find themselves with sigs describing PCs for more than one game may wish to revisit the Sigs Per Forum topic in the How to PBP subforum.

Re: Out Of Character

Any way Dougal can have a main gauche instead of a simple dagger and get a slight AC bonus to his defense?

Re: Out Of Character

Is the movement rate for Hobbets the same as that for Men?

Thanks in advance!

I've thought it over, and decided to try Fighting Capability.

Druids have the same FC as magic-users.
