Envongr (because he is an idiot) strides right into the lobby which is full of ferocious wolves.

They immediately leap to attack him, and he bravely (?) aims his bloodied pick-axe at the most immediate threat.

(Initiative is rolled, 1d6; envongr=6, wolves=4. Envongr 1d20+3=16 one hit. 1-6 wolves attack during the round 1d6=3. 3d20=7, 14, 15, two hits. Envongr deals 1d6=2 damage. Ref rolls wolf's hit points; 2d6+2=12, it's a big one! Wolves deal 2d6=3,4= 7 damage.)

The biggest wolf in the room leads the charge, and Envongr deals it a glancing blow with his pickaxe that deflects its attack away from him, but two other wolves dart in while he is distracted, and clamp their jaws around his legs to shake at him violently and tear into his flesh.

Envongr has 4 of 11 hit point left.

What now?

Giant Guntram is about 12ft high, but the passage is only about 6ft wide and 8ft tall.

The pack of wolves cower back as Giant Guntram forces at the roof (1d6=5) and bursts through with a roar and a great shower of broken timbers and mortar. The sunlight that rushes in is immediately obscured by a great plume of roiling dust... and visibility becomes worse that it was!

Both fighters shrug off the tendrils of sorcery that threaten to seize them, and Dieter continues to fend off the attackers skillfully as he deals them some hurt in return, but Dorgan is not so fortunate! His protection is neer as steely as Dieter's, and he suffers baleful injuries in the fighting.

(d20 Mondes=13 Josiane=13, both hit, for 3 and ~4 damage respectively).

At their backs, Desmond continues to blow upon his whistle, while Mondes controls their shared limbs, stabbing a shirking wolf with their sword, as Josiane whacks another across the skull with the flat of Jehen's sword. Meanwhile, Wen focuses the glare of his Irascible Leer upon one of the more tenacious wolves of the pack, causing its thick, dusty coat to suddenly catch fire! It howls and squirms and thrashes madly to smother the blaze creating all sorts of confusion.

With all this, the wolves are beaten into disarray and are falling all over themselves to retreat as quickly as they are able!

OOC: it probably isn't possible for Mondes to get a sling stone off at one of the priests, is it? If not, then they'll continue to hold the line at the back in case the wolves return.

I think Dieter is fighting wolfmen, not wolves.

I don't think the wolfmen are retreating...
