The company breaks camp and sets a good pace as they continue their march into the foothills.
The spring morning is crisp, but the day promises to be warm, and long before noon the toil of marching with laden packs and war gear has you mopping sweat from your brows.
As the ground rises and grows steadily rougher the streams and brooks you passed yesterday become less frequent. The verdant grass gives way packed, rocky earth and the thatches of trees are reduced to tussocks of hardy heath clinging to the lee side of boulders.
Olaf and Guntram scout ahead, searching out safe routes through the crags, while the main body of the company travel in a single file along goat tracks and through narrow passes, with Josiane, Murphy the mule, and the Dwarfs bringing up the rear. Highbow ever lingers someway behind these, keeping a rheumy eye upon the wilderness behind them, but there is no sign of any pursuit by The Boar's men, or anyone else.
There are still signs that there are rabbits and wild goats about, but they must be scare or canny, for you see none all morning -- clearly there is less game in these parts.
The march continues none the less...
