Done. 15 sp, actually...

A day off for recovery and rest sounds good.

Then exploring the space under the house sounds good, as well.

Planning: Anyone have any good ideas for fighting centipedes without getting too close to their stingers? Especially since it is apparently a fairly confined space and there could be several of them. Maybe line up as many people as possible with ranged weapons on the stairs and all shoot at it at once? Guess we'll have to see how many can do that...

Before he leaves, the dwarf sheepishly drops three silver shillings into the fund box. If anyone is in the room, he shrugs his shoulders and says, "It's all I got."

"A man with weed is always welcome - a dwarf with weed only more so!", replies Gustave to Dorgan's suggestion.

"Come my friend, let us also find some palatable wine and make an event of it - the stuff they have here is I fear fit only for the lowest ranked kobolds."

He drops his share into the coffer in silver, and adds another 9 coins. "Consider it a down-payment on the weed" he whispers to Dorgan on the way out.

"Desmond! Mondes! we depart!" he yells over his shoulder as he strides from the building into the morning sun.

That is correct, doctorx.

It is one thing for myself and my companions to go without repast - we have provided no coin to purchase any provender as you rightly reminded us, but I would not have yourself and your fellows passing your days labouring on our behalf without the benefit of a decent meal."

Bennug bows low before replying, "Fear not, Madam, Goblins are quite content with fare that Men will not accept, and there are no end of weevils and grubs, on the grounds. We even caught a rat yesterday." He gives a flash of what might be a grin -- or perhaps a sneer? -- his sharp little goblin fangs showing for just a moment. And then his professionally neutral demeanor hastily returns

Gustave takes with him his own meager supply of coin, and a sample of both the electrum coins and the foreign coin.

He plans to drop in at Brigitta's (purely on business of course), and the Hammer and Anvil in suitable order. He also consults his not inconsiderable memory for tips on where to procure some fine wine: If no recollections of past recommendations are forthcoming, enquiries will need to be made.

This may be irony.

If so, it is totally wasted on the Vagabond Knight.

Josiane reaches immediately for her purse, emptying the 6 silver and 4 copper coins into Bennug's palm, (although she is careful to make sure she retains her Fated Coin).

"Here," she says earnestly; "Please do all you can with this to see you and your fellows are provided with decent vittals. I regret I cannot help more, but this is all the coin I currently have."

She offers the butler an apologetic if sweet little smile.

Desmond/Mondes (with his billowing cloak) and Dorgan have to scurry to keep up with Gustave's enthusiastic pace as he strides out of the manse, down the path and onto Eagle street.

It is a crisp spring morning, and the ground is damp from patchy overnight rain, but the sun is shining full in the morning sky and it's ivory light is bold and warming to the soul.

From this end of town it is only a short stroll to Bridget's jewellery workshop, and not too far from there is a purveyor of fine liquors and niceties called Trice Tunnelworm's wherein all manner of fine wines, ports, cigars, cork-screws, decanters, cheese knives, tobaccos, coffee beans, and so on can be obtained.

The armoury and other baser establishment are all the way across town, nearer the wagon train yards and smelly markets and warehouses.

It is unlikely a jeweller will be interested in old coins, or a vial of foul stuff. However, on the same street there is a money changer, whose establishment is called The Crumenal.

What to do..?

Desmond thinks for a second...

"How about we go to the money changer first, then you can sort through the sundries at that smoking place for a bit (not too long, mind you) and then we can all head over to the other side of town? While you're administering garrulous tidings to your armourer friend, I can pick up a sling and meet back up with you, probably before you've finished saying hello..."

He winks at Gustave and smiles in a friendly sort of way.

Mondes makes a gagging face and spits.

Oh, he'll contribute to the kitty, too.
