Hello!

Hello! My real name is Tim Fox, and I am a teacher in Japan, but am from Canada (but spend 10 years in New York City before going to Japan). I got back into gaming after many years during the past couple virus years. Delving Deeper is my favorite iteration of the early ODD and I happy to be a part of this community. I also really like S&W, Night Owl Workshop games, Basic Fantasy, Hulks & Horrors, and Hideouts & Hoodlums, to name a few. I hope to participate in online gaming via play by post if people don't mind dealing with my posts coming at you in Japan time. It looks like there are not too many games going on in the forums, but I would gladly join a new one if I couldn't join one in progress.

Re: Hello!

Hello Tim, and welcome!

Just by way of orientation (and you've probably noted all this already): there are two play-by-post games currently running, Gorthaur's Madness and Hobbets of Hornpipe. The referees are Makofan and mushgnome, respectively, if you want to PM them to see if they are willing to add new players.

Re: Hello!

Welcome, Tim!

I could squeeze you into my all-halfling game if you are interested. (Hobbets don't take up much space.)

Mushgnome, what an original idea (that Gygax probably would have hated). Sure that sounds like it could be fun. How do I get started? What ruleset are you using? What are your house rules? I have WFMAG, DDv4, Basic Fantasy, the original OD&D books, and various other OD&D type books like Planet Eris.

Re: Hello!

Great! I will roll up some stats for you and get you started in the game ASAP. The party currently has at least 2 of every class, so there aren't any obvious "gaps" in the party's skill set.

If you want to start reading about our house rules, they are summarized here: https://forum.immersiveink.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=831

The most obvious house-rule addition is the Druid class.

Re: Hello!

Hi Tim! Are you still interested after perusing my house rules?

I've rolled up some stats for you over in the char-gen thread.

I like the idea that Gygax would disapprove of our all-halfling campaign. It makes me feel like a slightly naughty DM.

Jinkies! Adding another person with more DD knowledge than me. I have D&D experience but this has been my first DD experience :D
You’ll enjoy the group adventuring now though!

Re: Hello!

rredmond, I've actually been more of a collector than a player recently. Now I'm determined to change that - as a hobbit!
