Kiplyn comes out of the tunnel ready for danger...... "That beast did it again didn't it. Everyone still have their teeth?"

Bilfur determines that these puffballs are a prized edible species.

"Yes! And the lantern too! We have much improved." Dame Simonetta answers in almost disbelief.

Beppo brushed himself off. "There was a beast? The goat I heard?" he whispered to those by him. He tried to move carefully through the thick puffballs. If he could climb a wall maybe he could get a better vantage point to see the whole cave and all its exits.

Beppo climbs one of the stalagmites (so he is above the puffball canopy) and has a good look around the cavern.

The only other exit is to the northwest (the direction the spider-goat went). It is interrupted by a great chasm of unknown depth. The discarded scraps of old rope and rusted iron spikes suggest that other adventuring parties throughout the years have attempted to climb across the chasm. At the edge of lantern light, Beppo can see that there is another ledge on the far side of the gulf, and it should be possible to continue on to the west.

The spider-goat is visible 50' down the chasm. By the yellow glow of the Faerie Fire spell, the party can see a substantial web down there, that looks almost like the net to catch a flying trapeeze artist. The web is cleverly positioned to snare any plummeting Hobbet Heroes who fail their climb checks while crossing the void!

OOC: Faerie Fire duration is 4 rounds/level so I rule there are 2 rounds left.

"Has anyone ever figured out if that web was flammable?" Noh muses out loud, then goes to join his fellow druid in admiring puffballs.

"There's something glowing down in that chasm," Beppo called down to the others. "If it's alive...do you want to drop rocks on it and try to kill it?"

"The web! We've found the foul thing's lair. Finally!"

Willie doesn't pause for consideration -- he has a score to settle! He gathers up ammunition for his sling and let's fly as soon as he can. He thinks 50' is within his range and also reasons that he finally has the high ground.

"Take that, you ... you SPIDER-GOAT!"

He just assumes that others will join him in his vendetta.

Dame Simonetta will also take advantage of the situation to attempt to slay the spider goat for good. She will look around for any decent-sized rocks as suggested by Beppo, but will otherwise join Willie and use her sling.
