The DM rules that, if Dame Simonetta doesn't attack the black pudding, then neither does Bilfur.
Dame Simonetta stands there for a few minutes, watching the thing devour the corpse of the Spider-Goat. She is mesmerized by its undulations and hypnotized by its faint rainbow sheen (like an oil slick).
Dame Simonetta fails her Mythos check (1d6=4) and her Mythos increases 1 point, from 2 to 3. She experiences a deep, existential dread as she has this realization: All of her adventures to date have taken place in the upper layer of the earth's crust, in a starter, baby, training-wheels dungeon. But below that is a whole other layer of deep caverns, beyond anything she can imagine. At the Earth's core, there are creatures so monstrous that spider-goats are like fleas to them. Dame Simonetta feels that all of her life's accomplishments are insignificant, and she is but a speck of dust compared to the vast secrets of the Deep.
The black pudding finishes its meal, then drips and quivers its way back into the darkness below. The encounter is over.
