Re: Charcter Generation and House Rules

This is great, coffee! The party will benefit for sure from a strong Fighting-Hobbet. I'll insert you into the game in the next day or so.

Wilbur's travels have brought him to the human village of Hornpipe, famous for the best Johnnycakes in the upper Miskatonic valley! Rumor has it Hornpipe is home to a small group of Hobbet Adventurers, dungeon-delving without the humans' knowledge. To find their secret base of operations, look for a windmill on top of a hill, and follow the smell of pancakes!

Wilbur the Quite Tall lucks out and rolls 1d6=6 + 2 + 1 Con bonus = 9hp
Nice rolling! I swear I did not fudge that roll.

Re: Charcter Generation and House Rules

Okay, @coffee, you can introduce yourself in the game thread: http://forum.immersiveink.com/viewtopic ... 669#p32669

I will copy your stats and equipment list to my Google Sheets for easy reference. I keep track of all that stuff, so you don't have to worry much about record keeping, but feel free to post a character sheet here: http://forum.immersiveink.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=836

Re: Charcter Generation and House Rules

dtspurrier welcome to the game! Here are your stat rolls.

Here's how this works: I've rolled stats for 6 potential characters, using the '3d6 in order' technique.

Choose your favorite of these 6 stat-blocks and choose your class, equipment, etc. accordingly to flesh out your hobbet character. The class list and house rules are detailed in the first post of this thread.

S:8 I:10 W:9 Co:17 D:8 Ch:16 Gold:70
S:9 I:9 W:9 Co:11 D:9 Ch:7 Gold:100

Re: Charcter Generation and House Rules

I choose this one:

S:15 I:6 W:14 Co:13 D:12 Ch:11 Gold:140

Bilfor the strange

Hobbet druid (neutral)

animal, plant, and burrow lover. Never been to a town before, quite, can barely speak common or hobneese. Still his decisions are rash and calm.

AC: 6
HP: 3

spell prepared/memorize: Faerie Fire
affects: 12 linear feet/level within a 4" radius
duration: 4 rounds/level
range: 8"
This spell affects up to 12'/level of objects or creatures (a pterodactyl with 12' wingspan, two 6' humans, four 3' hobbets, etc.) who do not get a saving throw against the effect. The targets are outlined in harmless glowing light in the caster's choice of color (traditional choices: blue, green, violet). This makes the targets easier to strike, and all attackers get a +2 bonus to their attacks. Invisible targets are made visible. Outlined creatures are visible up to 8" in the dark, or 4" if the viewer is near a bright light source.

Equipment:

Leather armor
shield
cudgel
sling
7 goodberries. He carefully dried them to preserve them, and keeps them in a pouch around his neck. Eating 1 goodberry instantly restores 1 lost hit point of injury.

Backpack
Cloak, hooded
Rope, 50 ft
Tinderbox
Torches, 12
Pipe, smoking
Pipeweed
Rations, one week
Waterskin, 2
bunch of wolvesbane
bunch of belladona

56 gp

Re: Charcter Generation and House Rules

Welcome dtspurrier! Great to have you in the game. I love your character concept. You'll fit right in.

For hit points, Bilfor rolls 1d6 = 3hp.
His AC for leather+shield is 6.

In his woodland travels, Bifor has foraged 7 goodberries. He carefully dried them to preserve them, and keeps them in a pouch around his neck. Eating 1 goodberry instantly restores 1 lost hit point of injury.

I like the 1st ed. AD&D version of Faerie Fire:

Faerie Fire
affects: 12 linear feet/level within a 4" radius
duration: 4 rounds/level

Re: Charcter Generation and House Rules

The party is at a good break in the action. I should be able to slot you in soon. Any questions? Get ready!

Re: Charcter Generation and House Rules

@dtspurrier, The party ran into a wandering monster on their way back to the surface, so here is what I'd like to do: Let's get you started in the game, so you're not sitting around waiting. You can interact with some NPC's and then the other PCs should be along shortly (if they survive).

Can you please post your finished character sheet here:
http://forum.immersiveink.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=836

And then you may start your Adventure here:
http://forum.immersiveink.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=880

Welcome!
