Just a fyi I had my booster shot for Phizor on sunday and suffered side effects of fever (99 to high as 102) sore throat and aches in my body so I have been home in bed for the last three days. tested negative for covid, doctors told me these side effects from the vaccinne are normal, and my fever and effects are broken. Sorry for the delay
Three days? That sucks. I got hit hard by my second Mederna shot, but it was just the typical 24 hours. By hour 25, I felt perfectly normal. Well... normal for me.

Re: Out Of Character

I sometimes have wicked insomnia. The first Moderna shot put to sleep for 12 straight hours. It was one of the best night's sleep I've had in a long time!

Re: Out Of Character

Clerics are my favourite D&D character class as a player, especially martial clerics. So I'm super happy about Simonetta's medallion even though she is still not-a-cleric!

Re: Out Of Character

Thank you for saying that. When I was planning this "campaign with no clerics" I thought it would be fun to sprinkle little hints through the dungeon, that maybe Clerical magic is real after all, perhaps some ancient art lost to time.

I was also inspired by the 1st ed AD&D trope, that Dwarven Clerics exist, but can be NPCs only. I thought it would be funny to make the campaign's first Cleric be an NPC Dwarf Cleric from the past. ;)

Re: Out Of Character

While we're talking clerics, are you guys willing to give me comments/notes on the pantheon I'm workingshopping for my next campaign? The setting would be somewhat similar to Hobbet Heroes (Lovecraftian New England) but unlike Hobbet Heroes, the Cleric class does exist. The first three religions are from Lovecraft; the fourth is my take on the traditional D&D cleric.

(@scottenkainen I took some inspiration for Church of the Cross from your cleric Meno in the odd74 game. Thanks!)

The dominant religions in the campaign would be:

Esoteric Order of Dagon. Worshippers of Father Dagon and Mother Hydra. The dominant religion in coastal towns like Innsmouth.

Church of Starry Wisdom. Worshippers of the Haunter in the Dark (spoiler: an aspect of Nyarlathotep) and the Shining Trapezohedron. Seekers of knowledge.

Brotherhood of the Yellow Sign. Worshippers of the King in Yellow (spoiler: an aspect of he-shall-not-be-named). Seekers of immortality.

Church of the Cross. The major Lawful religion. Its clerics have 3 core responsibilities:
1. Once a week, gather the faithful to the Cross, and work together to make the community stronger.
2. Smite the servants of Chaos (undead, demons, lycanthropes, etc.).
3. Bury the dead with the appropriate ceremonies (so they don't rise as undead) and mark their gravesite with a cross.

(Basically, my thought was that the Church of the Cross became the dominant religion, because they alone know the secret of proper burial, to prevent your loved ones rising as zombies! This goes back to the original D&D concept of the Cleric class as undead hunters.)
