Re: The Seventh Adventure

Kiplyn catches up to Dougal's location without incident. However, Kiplyn's web-walking experience is very different than Dougal's: he doesn't get the soothing "carpet of silk" sensation under his feet, and he finds the whole balancing act to be quite nerve-wracking.

Kiplyn thinks, he wouldn't want to be down here in the web, without his burglar climbing skills. It would be pretty dicey for a non-thief.

Kiplyn sees everything Dougal sees: lots of rat-sized cocoons, a half-dozen hobbet-sized cocoons, and up ahead to the west, an alcove in the canyon wall.

Kiplyn looks at the larger sized remains as he get close to them. "Wonder who these poor souls were?" he mumbles as looks to see how hard it would be to free them from the cocoon.

"Dame S, Bilfur, you stay here and keep that rope handy in case they come back this way -- you should be safe in this cavern now the S-G is dead! Wilbur, Noh, Beppo, come with me, and bring a rope -- we're going to provide them an exit on the other side!"

Assuming the other 3 follow him, Willie's plan is to head through the secret doors to area 15. He wants a nearer rope for the 2 hobbets down in the web, should there be another monster down there -- or should they find a treasure!

Beppo followed along, wanting to be useful.

bilfur says, " good luck. " . Then Bilfur asks, "if our buddies see more of those creatures that they can't handle, and they decide to run back to us, should we have a torch ready to burn the web just in case?"

Re: The Seventh Adventure

The party currently has two lit lanterns: Willie's lantern, and Dougal's lantern, which is dangling at the end of a rope, 50' down the gorge.

Dame Simonetta and Wilbur have unlit lanterns. Bilfur has torches. Beppo has candles.

Kiplyn is carrying torches, in case he and Dougal need them.

Re: The Seventh Adventure

Dame Simonetta is already concerned that the party is split, and so doesn't object too much when Willie suggests splitting it further.

"Alright," she says to Bilfur, "light one of your torches now that Willie is taking his lantern. That will give us some light up here too, but be careful with it!"

Re: The Seventh Adventure

Beppo realized how grateful he was for the steady glow of the lantern light, that torchlight would cast spookier shadows in these caves...and now he was about to go off with a smaller section of the party and see by only torchlight...

He gulped hard, but kept going.

Re: The Seventh Adventure

Oh, apologies. I thought Dougal had his lantern in his hand, not still attached to the rope. If possible, he would have taken it with him to have a proper light source.

Re: The Seventh Adventure

OOC: We can ret-con that Dougal and Kiplyn brought the lantern, no problem. I will re-do the map to reflect their increased range of vision.

Does that change anyone else's action? Are we still thinking, split the party in three groups? Who is in which group?
