From my perspective nothing different has happened yet. I've forewarned you that I want to run the upcoming combat briskly rather than detail it out to the Nth degree the way I have previously (I just don't have the time i used to, and hey, it's an opportunity to try out something a little different and see how it flies). All it really means is: please provide me with enough detail to see you through the next turn, rather than just the next round.
Okay, cool. This is what I'm looking for.

I have on occasion seen players give detailed plans for upcoming fights, only to have the referee tell them to take one thing at a time. So this will be a new experience, and I'm looking forward to it!

Geez, Simon, Tonneau has been waiting for months to get back into the action and you kill him in the first round of the first battle? That's hardcore!

The dice can be a hard master

I thought about fudging it to save him (err, her)... but it wasn't worth it. What would be the point of rolling without risk of consequences?

Anyway, I hope he will bounce right back a roll up another character... (DoctorX could use some company too!)

Aside from poor Gerthrude, the players were distinctly lucky that Thick-Neck only managed to land two of nine attack rolls in the three rounds. Had he instead made four or five hits, things might have gone otherwise...

I am just teasing. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I would recommend Tonneau's next PC stay close to DoctorX's next PC. I can't tell you how many times Dorgan would have died if not for Josiane's intervention.

I have a question for character sheet tracking: Wetzel has taken a 6 point head hit, but his equipment includes a leather helmet. Does the Helmets Will Be Dashed rule come into play here, ablating the hit?

I.e. does Wetzel currently have 1hp or 7hp? Inquiring minds want to know! :D

Just realizing now that The Herald is basically making the decision for the group, and I don't want to do that. Do we want to fight to the death?

Traveling right now for work and in middle of class, so can't properly post, so just giving quick input...

Leudigar would want to offer them terms, but would have serious concerns with letting them go if they surrendered for fear of alerting others or retaliation. Terms would include giving up all armour, weapons, and treasure, no exceptions or we continue fighting.

The Herald will want them to also submit to the will of Thuul which, in his interpretation, means no more associating with non-humans like goblins, hobgoblins, or orcs.

Starting Friday morning, I'm on vacation for the long weekend. Back on Sunday night.
