True, well spotted. It's only fair that Highbough should have hit. I'll correct it now...
The old Elf is getting so senile, he forgot he hit...

Re: (053) Moonshine

Gustave cries in disbelief as yet another fine sword stroke goes astray, as his mailed boot slides on the splatted gore of spilled goblin intestines at his feet.

Eyes red with murder, he moves to pursue the beast as it falls back to the circle, when he hears the voice of Desmond cut clear through air thick with the smell of blood.

He is brought to a halt by Desmond's eloquent, heartfelt message, and pauses - nostrils aflare and poised to strike - to see what develops.

Re: (053) Moonshine

Dorgan will watch his companions, and the goblins, to see what happens next. If the worgs come again, he will attack, not defend. Tight is his two-handed grip on Mads Cold Iron Axe.

Should there be any break in the action, he'll drop his pack off his shoulders and tell Wen, "If you can find the flask, give some to the Miss."

ooc: Not trying to overload Wen's actions but I'll put it out there as orders of operations...

Once Wen finishes with Rufus pack and passes all the vials save 1 to Armando he would move on to retrieve Dorgan's flask and try to tend to Josiane .. He smiles as Desmond keeps them talking,"go on little one, you might just save us yet." He says quietly.

Re: (053) Moonshine

| Ref checks the goblin morale: 2d6=4, and the warg morale 2d4=4. |

Desmond/Mondes rattles them with his ploy--especially bold given his sightlessness. The wargs growl and paw the earth uncertainly, the goblins curse and look to each other nervously for leadership, but none is forthcoming.

Just as Desmond/Mondes cranks the rhetoric up a notch and threatens them with the Ogre Slayer (who has not even paused for one moment and is marching--red face, red sword--directly at them with murder burning in his eyes), Olaf's volley of arrows starts raining down among them from behind, and that's it. They lurch off at full warg pace, scattering into the surrounding heath.

Missiles and insults are cast after them, and Dieter using the ensorcelled ring to leap after them once, 2d6=7 but it's all without without decisive effect; the wargs are fleet indeed.

The yelling and pounding of paws recedes, and then there is a strange moment of quiet. Your own heaving chests and the restless wind is all that you can hear for at least a minute...

Torben

Torben leans against his spear for a moment and catches his breath. 'They will soon be back, and in greater numbers.'

After a quick moment, he'll move to pry the fell black beast from Ulric's prone body.

Re: (053) Moonshine

Wen will continue on with his plan as quickly as possible. If we can stand Josiane up she can help break Ulric back from the brink. So getting Dorgan's flask and tending to the wounded is job number one. "Looks like Wolf steaks for dinner, wonder if the goblins had any supplies on them?"

Re: (053) Moonshine

Highbough rushes to check on the fallen Josiane and Ulric (did I miss anyone?) to see if they are alive or dead, and apply first-aid if applicable.

Re: (053) Moonshine

Reacting blindly to the sounds of warg movement, Desmond pulls his sword out of the ground and holds it steadily before him, waiting for the charge. He holds the pose for several seconds, even as the sounds of activity die down. Finally, he feels the tip of the sword starting to project the shaking of his hand and he allows it to drop at his side, a look of confusion on his face.

In the ensuing silence, he lets out an audible sigh of relief and whispers, "Bugger me, it worked..."

Then he sits down in-place, trying not to shake. After a moment, he calls out, "Josiane, Rufus and Mondes and I need to get our sight back! I can't HANDLE this anymore!"
