Re: (053) Moonshine

In a curious mood, Armando re-examines the lockbox from the secret reliquary. Waiting for an appropriate moment, he presents it to Josiane for further consideration. "See! These etchings around the lock appear to be of a religious nature … I do not recognize them, but perhaps they are familiar to you? The contents of this box are a mystery — perhaps it holds a remedy for the halflings' sightlessness … ?"

Highbough takes interest in the lockbox. He knows quite a few languages; is he familiar with the runes/etchings?

Gustave is rudely wakened by the vociferous demands of his stomach, sadly unsated by a single pig and in desperate need of a vintage wine. He packs his silken bedding in unusual silence, and readies himself for another stoic march.

"You need rest, my friend," she admonishes the Dwarf gently; "Just the one watch for you. I shall accompany Lord Dieter on the third watch."
Dorgan smiles at his friend.

"Thanks, Miss. I 'spect we'll have time enough for rest once we get to Ket. Until then, gotta keep moving."

The next morning, the dwarf will encourage the rest of the group to get back on the road as soon as they're done examining the lockbox.

Re: (053) Moonshine

Another day of arduously slow marching ensues... | just 6 miles, or one wilderness hex, will be covered |

Dorgan is mightily thankful for the change of terrain from rocky hills and slopes to undulating grassy plains, though his poor feet are still hellishly sore. Rufus and Desmond/Mondes are still sightless and have to be awkwardly led, tripping and stumbling, and -- especially Mondes -- complaining heroically.

However, the day passes without incident (or substantial meal), and as the afternoon wanes the sharped eyed Olaf and Wen espy ahead the shady prominence of a ruined keep upon a hillock. Olaf knows it to be the same ruin wherein he and a few members of his present company began their adventures... and also where they razed a nearby hobgoblin checkpoint some time ago.

If their good fortune holds, the company will likely reach the ruin (and the razed checkpoint) on the morrow, and then the day after that they will reach Ket.

More ominously, however, a dark, blurry haze hangs low in the sky, smearing the horizon in the general direction beyond the ruin... what could that be?

Everyone is ravenously hungry again. You are on a broad, undulating grassland plain.

Any special orders for the night?

Highbough keeps his head down as he walks, looking for animal scat or other sign of good hunting. Occasionally he sneaks a hungry glance at the owl...

Re: (053) Moonshine

Dorgan will repeat the last evening's exercises (collecting firewood, looking for anything edible). Hopefully, there's enough wood nearby for some sort of fire.

"Hope that ain't a rainstorm coming."

Re: (053) Moonshine

Hearing the description of the sky from the sighted ones, Desmond and Mondes both use their noses to see if they can smell anything unusual in the air, like hints of smoke or fire.

Re: (053) Moonshine

Wen would be intrigued by the far off ruin. "What is that forlorn keep in the distance? Is it anything we need worry about approaching?"

Otherwise in general Wen[/n] tries to keep the the marchers spirits up, he would break out his flute along the way and play some impromptu songs and scenes, mimicking a gentle rain storm when Dorgan raises his fears.
